My husband, our 7 year old son and me stayed 5 nights in a static caravan and we had a good time.
On site restaurant: not so nice and bit expensive, better to go out but best to book as many restaurants were booked full.
Pool: very nice large pool and a shallow kids pool but the pool attendant a nasty guy who kept using his whistle to tell people off who didnt shower before going in the pool - why dont they put up a clear sign so people know instead of embarrassing everyone gestapo style!?
We had breakfast at the bar included which was nice.
Music in the evenings surprisingly good.
Mosquitoes plenty which was a pain
Playground more for babies which was a shame
At 1000 euros for 5 nights we found it a bit over priced
Caravan had no kettle and no cloths to clean anything but the outside seating area was very nice

This camping either suits you perfectly or you will absolutely dislike it.
If you are looking for a very organised camping with luxury and animation.... then you have to look further.
If you are looking for a friendly, relaxed and well located camping, this might be it.

The camping has a lot of fixed places with regular visitors. But they have their own area and they were very relaxed and quiet.

There are some great spots directly at the lake. (Rocks in the beginning, then sand.... not veryh steep so suitable for childeren to play in.) And some spots in the forest under the trees. The lake spots have a nice cool breeze which can turn into more then a breeze in the afternoon. If you don't like wind, don't pick a place directly at the lake.
The forrest places are much warmer and don't have the cool breeze, but also not the stormy winds. The places differ a lot in size. You can walk around with a map an choose your place (If not reserved yet).

The toilets and showers are older but clean. There is only one building which is pretty far away from the lake spots.
Warm water from 0800 till 2100. First camping in a long time where you have to bring your own toilet paper ;)

Great pizzas on the camping. Good quality for a good price. Shuttle bus service to the train station.
Very friendly owners. Staff speaks good English.
Some noise from airplanes heading to time. And the disco further down the beach. But not so loud that it is impossible to sleep.
Good fishing lake for pike and perch. No motorized boats/jetskis are allowed.

This camping we have already visited several times and always we feel welcome and enjoy the beauty of this place.

First of all the owners Alessandra and Alessandro are very sympatic couple and always prepared to help you with an advice with an outing or even if you have another problem.
The Mobilhomes where we stayed are simple, clean and comfortable with all the
kitchen equipment you need and with shower with hot water all day long. Some
of the mobilhomes even have aircondition.
At the shop in the camping you can buy products like pasta, beverages etc and you can order everyday for the next morning fresh bread and diary products. At lunch you can have a nice meal like pasta and in the evening a very tasty pizza.
The camping also have every morning a shuttle service to the train station in Bracciano where you can take the train to Rome. It is convenient and cheaper to stay at the beautiful lake and in the countryside and visit Rome as Bracciano is only about 1 hour with train.
We warmly recommend Porticciolo camping for persons and families that love the nature and a tranquil place to spend a lovely holiday.

Well, Porticciolo is a second home for my family. We stop here at least twice a year. Lately there were news telling about catastrophic dryness and fires. Not true! Yes the lake level went down 1 and a half meter but that makes the beach just more accessible. And fires raged around Ostia Antica not close to Bracciano.

The camping is family managed and not to big. It offers a very nice and refreshing place even now that the temperatures are very high. A refreshing swim or some drinks at the bar are always welcome. The food at the pizzeria & restaurant is excellent and costs very little.

All in all I say it's a hidden gem close to Etruscan finds and conveniently connected to Rome where you will have only the embarrassing choice between Roman finds and Renaissance arts.

Room tip: Most places are very good for your tent or caravan, the front lake site is suggestive during sunset.

We've now stayed here with our motorhome twice and loved it both times. Bracciano is a beautiful old town and Porticciolo is well placed to access it. Very friendly people, cheap bus trip into town (and the station for Rome). Good facilities, nice little shop and fresh pizzas available every night. We'll be back in 2 years! Many thanks for a lovely stay.
