I have wanted to try Maldaner's for quite awhile. I had been there as a child, so my husband and I decided to celebrate our 36th anniversary there. I was disappointed when I walked in and found the restaurant to be hot and stuffy, even musty or old smelling. Because it was a beautiful evening, my husband and I ate outside, along a busy downtown street. The noise from the cars took some adjustment, but it was breezy and comfortable, so we settled in for a nice time. The service and the food was excellent. We both order the small filet, which was very tender and cooked to our liking. We shared a bread pudding for dessert, especially good because it did not have raisins. Although the ambiance wasn't what I had hoped for, we had a great meal and a good time.
