Ok, it’s 10:15pm in Omaha. I actually got to my hotel at 10:02 to be firmly told ‘the kitchen closed at 10’. Tried a couple of other obvious places nearby with a distinct lack of interest from the staff and no food... saw Nosh, liked the name and went in. Eric, the host who also turned out to be the owner, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Despite there only being two other people at the bar and his kitchen having closed he personally rustled up a delicious cheese board. I had a glass of the Provençal rose that was so good I had a second. He chatted to me gently over the bar, without being in your face. What had looked like being a miserable evening without food turned into a congenial visit with great cheese and delicious wine. Thank you!

We enjoyed awesome food and it was delivered quickly. We had let our waitress know we were seeing a show. She made sure we did not feel rushed but had plenty of time to enjoy the delicious food. The wine menu also had some great selections.

You may want to consider eating at the Bar. The Bartender provides the most interesting and wonderful dining experience, while selecting the best cocktail wine pairing with your selections (his martinis are to die for). He is extremely knowledgeable, and despite his being so busy, he makes you feel as if you are the only party that he is taking care of during dinner. The entire staff treated us as if we were family. This is our second year visiting Nosh and we werenʻt disappointed at all....we recommend that a visit to Omaha means you must visit Nosh on Dodge.....and sit at the Bar!

We visited Nosh when in Omaha, meeting our son and daughter-in-law, and their baby. We wanted somewhere that we could enjoy cocktails and a light meal. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us good recommendations, for both drinks and dinner. Our group had the duck tacos, the flatbread with chorizo, the smoked gouda and bacon jam grilled cheese and the duck bahn mi sliders. All of the food was delicious and the soup of the day, a steak and corn chowder, was outstanding! Would love to have that recipe!

This was our first visit to Nosh, and possibly the last. We were downtown for an event and thought we would try Nosh for drinks and appetizers, on a Saturday late afternoon. Upon entering, the only greeting was, "Do you have a reservation?" The hostess gave a look of disapproval when we said no and turned her back on us. Interestingly, most of the tables were empty while we were there. After a chilly first impression, we went to sit at the bar.
The great bartender turned around the experience. He warmly welcomed us, provided water, and told us that happy hour prices would be honored even though we arrived shortly before it ended (which we hadn't expected to receive). He offered good suggestions and samples of the wine before ordering, which we enjoyed. The wines that weren't included as happy hour features got $2 off a glass. We also had the bruschetta appetizer which was ok, but the heavy basalmic overwhelmed the fresh ingredients.
If we return it will only be to sit at the bar. It seems like a wine bar type of place like Nosh would be happy to have new patrons open the door, whether or not they know that reservations are expected. Omaha has so many great options.
