“Quiet tranquility 20 metres from the hustle and bustle of beautiful Isle sur la Sorgue”
Reviewed 13 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

An amazing house hidden away just off the canal side with its cafes restaurants and shops. The quality and taste of the interior is lovely and the air conditioning throughout along with wifi and uk satellite made this a fantastic holiday week for a family with teen boys. The owner provides a secure carpark pass for a nearby parking place (2 mins stroll) which is a real bonus meaning you can easily come and go without worrying how/ where to park as the town was always busy. The lady who met us and settled us in was really helpful able to offer ideas on making the most of our time in Isle sur la Sourge. All in all 5 star experience.

“spacious and tastefully furnished property, in ideal location”
Reviewed 13 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This home from home was as beautiful as the photos suggest. The furnishings are typically Provencal, comfortable and in good condition. The location is ideal whether you are looking for an idle week in Isle sur la Sorgue or a more active time exploring the highlights of Provence.

All the administration, including check-in and check-out was handled efficiently and in a friendly way.

“Lovely home base for explore Provene”
Reviewed 29 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We had a great, week-long stay at La Marisol. Communication with the owner was excellent and the onsite manager was friendly and competent. The house itself is very welcoming and perfectly located in downtown Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. A dedicated parking spot next is just a few minutes on foot away from the house and next to a very convenient 7/7 grocery store. The bi-weekly open air market is practically just outside the door.

“Classic Provençal house located perfectly in L'Isle sur la Sorgue”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

My wife and I stayed at la Marisol for week with friends. The house dates back at least to the 16th century and has been lovingly restored by the owner to retain period features and include modern comforts like air conditioning, a full eat-in kitchen and living space with British cable TV, wi-fi and sound system. Set over 3 levels, the ground floor is the entry and a spiral staircase leads up to the main living area with 3 bedrooms on the top floor. There is an ensuite bedroom and the other 2 bedrooms share the main bathroom. There is a private sunny deck which overlooks the ancient roofs of the town. The church bells in the town square remind you where you are. The house is centrally located on the island surrounded by the river Sorgue and you can walk to many excellent shops, restaurants and the many antique stores. Or, drive to many interesting towns like Rousillon to see the ochre deposits and don't miss Fontaine de Vaucluse to see the river Sorgue pour out from a deep spring in the side of a rocky mountain. See the ancient paper mill near the source, still driven by the huge water wheel. When in Li'Isle sur la Sorgue, don't miss the excellent market on Thursday and the enormous antique and food market every Sunday. Provence on a stick! You'll love your stay at la Marisol.

“Perfect base in Provence”

We stayed at La Marisol again for 2 weeks in June, 3 years after our previous visit - this time as 2 couples. Time has in no way dimmed the marvellous experience. This is not a 5 star hotel. Rather, a character-filled HOME with marvellous space and light, located a few paces from the heart of this beautiful, bustling town - with the grand-daddy of all Provencal markets every Sunday right on your doorstep. The kitchen is spectacular and equipped for the most exacting gourmet chef. L'isle makes a perfect base for exploration of virtually all of Provence - none of the major attractions, barring the Cote d'Azur are more than 2 hours of easy driving away. Additionally, it has the rare asset of a regular train and bus service to all of the main centres and the Avignon TGV. But that's all barely relevant as you are going to want to spend many of your hours cooking and dining in the kitchen or lovely cool courtyard. We'll be back. One small word of caution. This is a town home on 3 levels with 2 staircases - one spiral and quite narrow. Don't take large heavy suitcases (the washing machine and tumble dryer make extensive packing superfluous anyway) and perhaps look elsewhere if you are over 75.
