“Fashionable hotel”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

The room was fashionable and clean, people were very friendly. Location was nice and easy to go for walk to the town, the town itself was very nice too. What I felt little bit strange was bath and toilet. They were located kind of in the same room as bed room. There was a higher floor above the bed but there is no wall. So you can hear. Except for this, I liked everything of this hotel. We parked public parking outside of the town, just cross the river. It’s better to check the parking on the map in advance. Restaurant was very good.

Nice hotel rooms with very helpful personnel. We also tried the "menu truffe" and found it very good. Full of ideas and great flavours. As we staid there 2 nights will tried most of the key dishes and found them all interesting. We also tried the lunch menu, best Quality/price !
I disagree with the principle of writing 300 characters !

I was very disappointed with the service at this hotel. I had booked a room from a Saturday to a Sunday for July 2011, and, being aware that there would be no parking for our car at the nearby public lot on a Saturday because of the Sunday market, I asked for advice about how to park our car. I received no response after sending two e-mails. After sending the third and stating that I would probably have to cancel my booking without any information about parking options, I received a very short reply that demonstrated that they could not care less. A very poor way to treat a guest, and it completely took away my desire to stay at this place. I have cancelled and I will go somewhere else.

Monsieur,

This is a very trendy property. The property is a restored monastery built above the La Sorgue river which flows underneath it. You can view the river from the comfort of the restaurant. There are only a few bedrooms and each has been made into a modern trendy room with flat screen TV, WiFi and a lovely bathroom. Unfortunately, there is no aircon so it can be warm at night.....well the monks did not have any either. There is no formal reception so you can come and go as you please. Parking was free in a nearby car park and once you cross the river which runs beside the carpark (PORTALET), the property is only about 80m away. BE CAREFUL, do not park in this car park the day before or on market day which is SUNDAY. The main focus is on the restaurant which is fantastic. The Maitre D was very knowledgable and if you were unsure of a translation (everything in French), he would explain any dish in english. He would also help you choose an appropriate wine depending on your choice of food. The food was exceptional in both quality and presentation and I would recommend the restaurant highly. Breakfast was continental and served in the courtyard or restaurant. The property is clean and comfortable. Only downside was the lack of aircon and we were charged €4 for a bottle of Evian which was in our room. In many hotels, this is complimentary and there was no sign saying you should pay for it. The town itself is beautiful with many cafe's along the river and in it's many winding streets. There are many lovely areas where you can take the weight of your feet and relax. Like many French town's this one has a bustling market and may local shops down all the side streets. Go people watching in the square beside the Church which is right beside Le Prevote.

We spent four nights at La Prevote having booked four months ago. Upon arriving we were informed that they had made an error and we would have to change rooms after one night. Knowing that Provence can be very warm in July- it reached 98 F we checked to make certain that there was. The description of the rooms said air conditioning, and we confirmed it with our confirmation. There are no air conditioning not even vents for its future installation, our room temperature was an extremely unpleasant 85 degrees, I would be concerned about heat in winter. That said, the rooms were lovely as is the location. They did an outstanding renovation job leaving the Sorgue running through the restaurant area. Since their main focus is on the restaurant, when it is closed there is no one available on the premises. If you need ice, as my husband did for an injury or just have a question it's a problem. There is overnight parking nearby. When we went to retrieve our towed car the police told us that the La Prevote guests should not use it.
Breakfast was in the restaurant area and consisted of coffee, rolls, croissants, and jam.
Dinner at he restaurant was excellent, so book dinner and stay elsewhere.
