“Oyster Haven = Brined Beauties”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Elliott's Oyster House has a 30 ft bar of oysters and monday - friday have a buck a shuck special during happy hour! We were there on Saturday however, but still great oysters and great seafood towers. I had chowder at lunch so I only wanted something light, and the cold seafood tower was delicious!

“Excellent Moderately Priced Seafood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

You don't go to Elliot's for the romantic ambiance but if you can get over that, you will be rewarded by excellent fresh northwest seafood. I had the Alaskan Halibut Cheeks and my fiance had the Alaskan Sockeye with some king crab on top. Both dishes were tasty and reasonably priced (for excellent quality sustainably harvested northwest wild seafood. The seafood is comparable to Ray's and Chandler's but for about a 1/3 of the price.

“Happy Hour for oysters is incredible!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2012

Tripped over to Elliott's for their Happy Hour oyster marathon and didn't realize they stagged their prices- very clever gimmick.
If you arrive at 3pm, oysters are $0.75 a piece, then they increase by $0.50 every hour til 6pm. So anytime after 5pm, you'll be paying $1.75 an oyster. I believe you also have to order by the half dozen or dozen, and you have no say as to what kind you will receive. People all around were ordering large platters and you usually got a dozenl of the same kind. I think mine were Chef's Creek and Reach Island. It's a great way to have some oysters and it's very popular so get there early!
I went on a Friday afternoon at 2:50pm, not realizing happy hour started at 3, and by 3:15 the place was packed. By 3:30, there had to be a waiting list of about 20 people.
If you're claustrophobic, then you probably don't want to be sitting at the bar, as they allow other patrons to get drinks behind you as they stand waiting for seats to become available.
It is a fun atmosphere and great to see all the different kinds of oysters they have on offer.
For the frugal traveller, Elliott's happy hour will save you a bundle on oysters as they are generally $4.00 a piece individually (at night if you want to try one of a kind), at happy hour a dozen will cost you $9.00 and at night a dozen will start at $26.00 and go up.
Customers around me raved about the calamari and the oyster stew. And the Elliott's Amber Ale was mighty tasty as well.
Elliott's is located on the pier way down below Pike Place Market.
