The Shelby was located downtown Seattle and was within walking distance of all attractions. The apartment was spacious and accommodated four women on a girls' getaway vacation.
We were able to walk to most locations.
We had easy check-in and out. One small. problem but it was easily taken care of.
Thank you for the good customer service. We needed a bag drop for our final day and you gave us a couple options.
Advice: provide a vase for flowers...it is Seattle where beautiful and cheap flowers are available.
Loved this place. Would recommend! Quiet area with easy access to pike place and other attractions, such as the space needle. Could walk everywhere. Lovely bakery next door - the yellow leaf cupcake.
We had 2 bedrooms for 5 people and it was great to have 2 bathrooms. Very spacious and the pull out bed was also comfortable.
We had a fabulous time in Seattle. Our time at the Shelby though limited was delightful and provided everything we needed. We were close to all the attractions and fond some wonderful little spots to explore. One of our favorites was the coffee shop at the Moore Hotel. Great waffles and baristas.
First, I am rating this rental as Average and not "POOR" because of the professionalism of the Stay Alfred personnel and that the Seattle manager did come to our unit and try to rectify what problems he could. When we arrived in a party of 4, we of course expected to have the arrangement for seating pictured for unit 200 on several websites. The unit did not have 2 couches to seat 4 in the living room, only 1 couch and NO CHAIRS. Literally, the first night, two of us had to sit on the floor. Not what you want when hanging out at night for a Girl's trip. In addition, the details specifically said there would be 2 TV's. There is only 1 TV and it's in the living room. Multiple light bulbs were burnt out, but this was fixed on the second day. The Manager of S.A. Seattle did bring us one chair but that's all he could come up with for us. All Seattle units were booked according to SA so we could not switch locations. The bedrooms are taken up with beds and the closets are not deep enough to hold suitcases, so we had to spread them out in the hallways. For a unit that says it sleeps 6, it is very small, but this seems to be the norm in Seattle. Be aware that the buildings are extremely close to each other and that most windows look directly into the units next door. This unit is also on the street front, so when we opened the windows at night to try and get cool air (because there is no air-conditioning), the street noise was very loud. There is a fire station just down the block. S.A. should not expect all travelers to know that there is no air. It should be stated in the details. Lastly, it was a clean unit. Needs a towel bar in the master bath (had to hang wet towels on the doors, etc.) There are no kitchen amenities "left behind" so bring your coffee filters, coffee, etc. Better details for the use of the key fob (not mentioned in check in details) and where trash location for the building is located would have helped. The on-site building agent does not want to deal with S.A. guests and actually watched us stand outside the door for 10 minutes trying to get in the building before assisting us. I'm not sure I will use Stay Alfred again. I have had better experiences renting homes and condos directly from owners in the past.
