We only had one night stay at Holiday Inn Downtown before our cruise and were impressed. The room and location were very suitable for what we were after. Front desk staff were also helpful on check in and check out.

We arrived by taxi from the airport, and first impressions were not that great. The hotel is 1960s in style, and sandwiched between two other hotels and two freeways either side. The neighbourhood is set in the 1960s too, but its proximity to the Sky Tower and other attractions is excellent, and the walk into the centre of the city, although about 20 minutes (and uphill on the way back!) is interesting, with lots to see along the way. It didn't feel like hard work.

Lobby staff were welcoming and pleasant, and we had a very satisfactory double room. No views, but the room was large, clean and comfortable, and we slept well. As we planned to sightsee and spend little time in the room, its beauty (or lack of it) was hardly an issue. Breakfast is at an adjoining separately run establishment next door, but again, welcoming staff and excellent food.

As a base for Seattle, it works very well. In its heyday, it was probably all that was good and great at the time, but it badly needs a makeover, especially in relation to the high prices charged by all the hotels in Seattle.

Great location short walk to the Space Needle and Downtown. Friendly staff. Hiccup in the restaurant but dealt with quickly by Theo. Delighted with the one bedroom suite, bed super comfy, all appliances looked brand new

Nice clean hotel, great location, comfy beds, good restaurant next door, helpful and kind employee's. What more can I say. Only negative is would have liked a pool. Walking distance to the Space needle and all the cultural museums.

Perfectly adequate for a stay in Seattle. Whilst not in an incredibly central location (and admittedly in a somewhat run-down area), it was within walking distance of both the Seattle Center and (for moderately fit people) the downtown area. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, all amenities were in good working order. I applaud hotels that provide USB sockets on the nightstands - this should be mandatory worldwide to avoid hunting for an electrical socket! The bar was perfectly comfortable and not too overpriced.
