We stayed at "the library" for a birthday gathering over the weekend and absolutely loved it! Lynne was super accommodating to any questions or requests we had and their home was spacious and very clean. Will definitely stay again!
My family (myself, my husband, and my twin 4-year-old boys) along with my parents-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law stayed at this property for a week in August 2017. We had an amazing vacation week in Seattle - starting with this comfortable 4-bedroom home. The owners gave us some fantastic personalized recommendations of local places to eat within walking distance (e.g. to accommodate the 5 vegetarians I was traveling with!), and were super helpful throughout our stay (answering questions quickly, etc.). The condo is spacious and allowed our large group to have plenty of room and privacy. Parking is super easy which was great, as we had two cars and did a lot of driving around Seattle. But there are also so many great restaurants and stores within walking distance! (a YUMMY bakery in particular). I would definitely recommend this property to others. Thank you to Seattle Vacation Home for an amazing vacation!! :)
Normally, when I rent a property through one of these online rental platforms, I have fairly basic expectations - a reasonably clean property with basic amenities and adequate privacy and security. Unfortunately, this home failed on ALL accounts.
Upon arriving, we quickly realized that the heat was broken in the home. The home was 49 degrees, which was wholly unsafe for our group, which included 3 small (under 15 months) children. After contacting the owner, we had repeated intrusions to check on the heat and, ultimately, after 24 hours, the heat was fixed, but not before we had a sleepless night in a freezing home and three kids wearing several layers of clothing just to stay warm.
On top of the lack of heating for the first 24 hours, we also experienced a complete lack of privacy and security. In addition to the intrusions by the people trying to fix the heat, the owner apparently (unbeknownst to us) used the same door code for our unit and the one he also owns next door. So, the renters for the neighboring unit entered our unit on at least two different occasions when the door was supposedly locked. If those individuals had merely realized their error and immediately left, that would've been one thing. However, on one of the occasions, our entire group was asleep and two strangers walked all the way through our house to the top floor bedroom where my wife and I were asleep and entered our bedroom at 12:30 AM. Understandably, my wife and I were completely shocked and terrified to find two complete strangers in our room at 12:30 AM, particularly with our infant son sleeping just a few feet away. We contacted the owner about the first intrusion on Friday night and he did nothing, nor did he even mention that both units had the same door code. Later, when we contacted him again about the issue, he basically responded that because they had been accommodating in other ways, we were "even" for the complete lack of security and privacy.
Although the owner was initially accommodating and we were hopeful this was going to be a great weekend in Seattle, the myriad problems we experienced (lack of heat) and utter disrespect for our basic rights (security, privacy, etc.) made this weekend very disappointing and frustrating...
Given our experience, I would highly recommend not renting this house or from this owner.
