This was a WONDERFUL place to stay and truly a home away from home. Minutes from Seattle U and the downtown business district, it provided a nice haven that allowed us great access to the city. Home was clean, neat, very comfortable and everything was modern. appreciated the fact that the owners will check in via email or text to see if Everything is OK and if anything is needed during your stay. Would definitely stay there again!
Convenient location to get to center city. Within walking distance of several shops and restaurants and bus lines. Great to have a dedicated parking space even though street parking was also available. Andy & Lynne are great at communicating and responsive to requests. The guidebook they provided was very helpful. We'll definitely stay again when in Seattle and would highly recommend these hosts and this property.
So, here's the thing. we didn't stay at the Chalet because the previous guests needed to extend their stay. So I'm reviewing an unnamed property.
Positives: We were offered a move to another property but declined because it's a hassle to move kids. We were fully unpacked, had shopped for groceries and would have had to repack and move everything. Also, super well equipped kitchen. Offered to put a propane tank in.
Problems: I can't imagine they'd previously rented this property. The TV was not hooked up to anything, just plugged in. The BBQ had no gas, the ground floor bathroom lacked soap (which I found out once I was in the shower). No Wifi, though we did hook up to very weak wifi from The Depot property. Had to call for a broom, and apparently needed to also say a dustpan. They had a glass dining room table, but no cleaner on hand for the table. They did drop off the broom and glass cleaner.
Clearly, these people own a ton of properties, but there was not a full walk-through to see if the property was ready for, as promised, "BMW quality." I think they need a checklist...
