Comfortable - this is an older building, remodelled and refurbished following an extensive fire some years ago. It's comfortable, for sure. Great rooms, all individually themed, are off a grand central staircase and landing (check the chandelier), while communal areas (a social lounge, with piano, a dining room, and library) are on the ground floor.
Individual - Daryl, your host, is certainly that. Very willing to assist, and don't be put off by his stand-offish nature - that's just his personality type, and other reviewers have mistaken it for him being rude, which he most certainly is not! He's much softer than an ex-accountant ought to be, and we enjoyed chatting with him over breakfast.
Speaking of which, this is B&B, but the breakfast is nothing to write home about, so I'll write about it here. It's cereal, fruit, and home-baked muffins (flavours vary daily). Coffee not the strongest, but OK enough.
Beds were comfortable, shower was good pressure, room was warm (we visited in Spring; it snowed).
It's very well located for the Capitol Hill strip, which has a whole bunch of odd eateries.More
