“Beautiful location with everything imaginable!”

We loved our stay in the Indian Cove Ranch Cabin. Todd and Leslie have thought of absolutely everything! The views are spectacular and the cabin is wonderful! Everything we needed to truly experience Joshua Tree.

“Touches Joshua Tree National Park - Hike out back door”

The cabin is really nice and cute. It is better than the photos, which is a nice surprise. The best part of the cabin in that you hike without getting in your car. We woke up had breakfast outside on the patio and then walked out into the National Park. You can see a small rocky hill from the cabin and you can walk there in a short time, maybe 45 minutes if you take your time. You will be walking in a an S-shape to go around the plants. You can go much further, but bring water if you do and do not get lost - the cabin will be out of sight.

The cabin is on a dirt road and when you get there you realize what makes it beautiful is the absence of the ugly stuff. There is no urban sprawl, just mountains and desert! This cabin is on a large 5 acre property, no immediate neighbors other than the main residence. It is very relaxing!

Joshua Tree is not very dog friendly, but luckily this cabin is! There is a lot of cool tile for your dog to lay on. Lots of outdoor areas to handle the business. You can lock your dog in the tiled area of the cabin (which is large hallway to kitchen) if you want to leave your dog and go on trails.

We saw a coyote, a tortoise and many jack rabbits while sitting on the patio of the cabin.

I am always skeptical of staying close to an owner for fear of them interfering with my stay. This was not the case. They met us on arrival and gave a very detailed tour of the cabin, then we never heard from them again. They seem like a great couple who take pride in their property.

Here are some facts of the place:
The kitchen is small but gets the job done if you are not going too crazy.cooking.
The patio is great to eat on - includes a small-person hammock.
The bathroom is nice, glass walls and door, non-removable head, lots of towels
The bedroom is big - the bed is king sized
There is a washer and dryer and a dishwasher
The AC looks like it is over-sized for the space and works amazing!
There is a nice grill on the patio
There is a small portable fire pit on the patio - bring a Duraflame log for night time lounging or wood if you want to make smores (no chemicals).
There is a hottub and an above ground pool

It was great and I would definitely stay there again!

Suggestions to make it even better:
Add another light on the patio for the BBQ grill
Add streaming Netflix (It is all I need, no Dish, DVDs etc... )
If you get a Roku and mount the TV on the wall, you can ditch the hutch and gear inside and save space for a larger couch.
Get a larger "loungier" couch for movie watching and ditch the other sitting furniture
Cute dishes, but not microwave safe = hot plate and cold food
Need cooler coffee mugs - I love coffee, but the mugs set the mood!
French presses are easier than coffee machines and do not break or need filters - plus make better coffee.
Have an outdoor dog poop trash can or recycling poop hole (they sell them)
Consider walling off the bathroom door to the kitchen? Maybe?
Provide a good flashlight - a black dog will disappear out there 20 feet away from you at night.
A telescope or big binoculars would be AWESOME there! Scouting for big horned sheep!

“Absolutely phenomenal in every way - best vacation of our life!”
Reviewed 11 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Everything starts with good and honest people, and you have that in the owners. Yes, that matters, and I can't say enough positive things about these people.
As for the cabin? Phenomenal. No exaggeration when I say it is the nicest place we've ever stayed at. Cozy beyond description. A bed that made us feel like royalty. Charming kitchen area. Beautiful shower. Everything about it was right up our alley.
We grilled steaks on the outdoor bbq on our first night here. There is an outdoor eating area overlooking Joshua Tree that is simply to die for. We swam in the pool. We sat in the jacuzzi and looked up at the very visible and awe-inspiring Milky Way!
There is a spirit here, it seems. The environment is warm and peaceful. Has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. And believe me, we will be back to appreciate it again as often as we are able.

“Would live here in a heartbeat!”
Reviewed 5 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

This rental is just...fabulous. The owners, Todd and Leslie, have made sure this little wood cabin/guest house is a complete home-away-from-home. The king bed is soft and comfy, the living room furniture is roomy and flop-ready, and you feel like you are staying in a luxury lodge. The full kitchen is also quite convenient, with a grocery just a mile or so down the road. Modern touches of wi-fi and provided speaker hook-ups for a music player or laptop make it so incredibly convenient! We took full advantage of the patio area with fire pit and barbecue, not to mention stargazing from the gorgeous Jacuzzi. We were given complete privacy and peace. The cabin fronts only steps away from the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park on the Indian Cove side. The main park entrances are only a few minutes away by car. If you are a horse lover, they board a few horses on their property that you can greet as you walk by. The house is located at the back of their main house, which is set to the side of the hills off a dirt road for wonderful privacy. We came for our anniversary, and it was perfect. We plan to return for a longer stay and bring our kids with us as well. I cannot recommend this property highly enough...it is exactly what you hope for in a modern cabin-style stay in a wonderful part of California. It can be romantic, but is also completely family-friendly. Thank you again, Todd and Leslie!!! <3
