Walked from Obergurgl on a white out day. Pretty crowded. Had our usual ribs which were not quite as good as remembered but the price had been hiked up by a couple of Euros. Nice walk however.

Thank araf

A lovely place for a hot chocolate or lunch stop. The goulash zuppe is delightful and a generous portion. The Shepherd's Toast (see pic of my wife enjoying it) is superb. Not cheap it is now owned by the family that own the Eidelweiss & Gurgl Hotel but the quality is excellent. Being at the bottom of a couple of fun to ski Red runs also helps. You can also walk to the hut from the centre of town (about 20 mins on a good path).

We walked here from Obergurgl to take a rest from skiing. Only had morning coffee. Was formerly Davids Hutte. a bit more up-market now.

We loved Davids Hutte. Under the new ownership this place is a huge disappointment. We were a big group for lunch which usually isn't a problem, however the new staff hadn't mastered the system and it took 4 attempts before they got our order correct.
When it arrived the food was on the whole good (the ribs are still delicious) however my chicken was completely raw in the middle and had to be sent back.
At the end of the meal a waitress managed to drop a full cup of coffee onto one of our group. They apologised, but made no attempt to offer any recompense. When we ordered the bill they were unable to split it between three people. We also suggested that maybe they should take 30 euros off to cover dry-cleaning. That caused a huge furore before they finally agreed. A nightmare lunch unfortunately.

It has been a while since I last saw Joe and I was glad I dropped in. He recognised me and gave me the best welcome in Obergurgl. We went there for lunches and a dinner on Monday the hot stone bbq was out of this world. Well done and so pleased to see Joe again.
