We stayed here in February after booking a last minute ski deal. The family are lovely and really do make you welcome. We arrived at 2200hrs and the owner told us to go into the dining room where we were greeted with a 3 course hot meal.
This excellent first impression lasted all week and this is a truly family friendly hotel. The food was plentiful and of good quality and was a true home from home as it was a cosy, clean and homely environment. There is an excellent and modern steam/sauna area, plenty of ski and boot storage and the place was constantly warm

The location is great, you just walk about 100 yards to the road. Niederau skiing is probably best suited to beginners and early intermediates, with nice nursery slopes and gentle blues. There isn't really much for more advanced skiers apart from a bit of off-piste and a couple of black runs, although there is a good snow park down in Auffach (free ski bus).
The resort itself is picturesque and charming. The après ski is good without being too hectic. The sedate and friendly atmosphere makes for a good choice for family ski holidays, as does the short transfer (45 mins to Innsbruck).

We would definitely return

Loved it the second we arrived. Great friendly welcome & hassle free check-in. We were on the button lift across the road within an hour of arriving.
Nice bar area to have a drink before evening meal where you can get WiFi
Food was adequate & very tasty.
Lovely sauna & steam to use each evening with lots of fresh, fluffy towels
We usually ski but this was our first time boarding. Lots of flat areas, meant we walked or scooted our boards quite often which was tiring. Overcame this by getting the gondola over to Alpachal which had a beautiful long runs, just perfect for us.
Reggie, her husband & son Hannes made us feel instantly at home. Would definitely go back again & have friends in mind who would love it in Neiderau too & would recommend it to them.
Beautiful area, gorgeous places to eat all over the mountain & chair lifts, gondolas etc are so expertly organised. Want to go back now!!!

Room Tip: Room 207 is nice. Lovely quiet balcony to sit on with a view of the mountains. Also horses in the arena below were lovely to watch

Stayed here first week week of March 2015. The location is absolutely fantastic, with just a short walk up the road to the pistes (100m, tops). Theres a button lift right on the end of the piste, which you can take up and then across to the 4man chair lift that'll take you to the top or Niederau.

We stayed on the third floor, and the rooms were really warm and clean. Sometimes the hot water would run out, but as long as you weren't stood in the shower for a long time, this wasn't usually a problem.

Our room had 3 single beds in it, which were of the two extremes. One was really hard, one was really soft, so theres something for everyone! Towels are changed twice weekly, but if worst comes to worst, you can always take an extra one from the Sauna / Steam room.

Breakfast consisted over Bacon and Eggs every morning, with the option of some cereals, toast and condiments etc. Whilst this was nice each morning, a little more variety would have been better.

Dinner in the evening was good mostly, there were some rather strange combinations but all in all the food was good throughout the week. Friday nights Carbonara was the highlight of the food for me that week!

The bar area is comfortable and is the best location for wifi. The wifi is free, but the connectivity throughout the hotel isnt the best. The drinks are priced well, and nothing is notably expensive. The guy that mans the bar through the week is really cool, hes a nice guy with nothing being too much trouble for him.

The Sauna, Steam room and showers are fantastic. They are spotlessly clean and extremely welcomed after a day on the slopes. They are also free between 16:30 and 18:30, but even though the hotel was full this week they were never that busy.

We had fantastic snow this week, with it snowing mostly every day. The pistes and offpiste were in great conditions. Neiderau is a small resort with not that many runs. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends who snowboard, unfortunately there are too many flat areas. Even if you manage to carry enough speed to clear most of the flat bit, you still end up walking.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms seem to be the warmest

Please ignore the old and out of date negative reviews!

Recently returned from 1 week package holiday booked through Crystal, It was our first ski holiday together (young couple 24,21) booked after reading a lot of trip advisor reviews and exceeded expectations! Simple accommodation but very clean and tidy! Mix of ages but know one seemed to feel out of place, very polite staff. Very close to the ski lifts and the free bus stop to the next town. Make sure you explore other runs as they are all covered under you ski pass.

Thank you for a pleasant stay hotel Hannes, PS. The breakfast lunch bag left out on the early morning of departure was a lovely touch!

Just got back from our 2nd ski holiday in Niederau & 2nd time at the Hannes. We chose it last time purely based on the reviews & it was everything & more. When we decided to go back there was no hesitation. Had a fantastic time once again. Brilliant snow conditions & after a long hard day there was nothing better than coming back to a clean room to possibly the hottest & best shower I have ever used (& I've travelled quite a bit!) followed by a delicious 3 course dinner. Just what u need. Very friendly family run hotel who make u feel very welcome. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try Austria. Great value for money too. Love the fact u can walk across the road & be at the ski lift & ski pretty much back to the hotel at the end of the day.
