The waiters in the restaurent didn't remember the orders we placed. Every morning they asked if we needed anything at the breakfeast - but they almost always forgot half of it. They should bring paper and pencil.

Ok if you fancy glasdoors to the toilet.

We are back for, I think, the sixth time with the kids for their ski holidays (a little bit off the high school-off season now as the kids have turned into teenagers) and I have the feeling the hotel strives to get better and better.

For reasons independent of us we were not here the previous two years, but compared with three years ago we found a better equipped gym, refurbished ski room and even better evening cuisine (mind you, as skiers who don't want the fuss to run around the town for dinner, we are on half board). The added starter "bar", with a dedicated chef, is a nice touch. Good job, Afan (hopefully I got his name correctly)! The dinner menus are creative enough and with good ingredients, a notch towards gourmet in a ski location... The only downside in the restaurant is still the desert chapter...not very tasty. The breakfast is, as we remembered, great, with a lot of choices for a hearty start before skiing.

We have a room in the design part and we found a few hiccups with it, but the staff was more than helpful and our requests have been swiftly answered- we asked for the mattresses of the bed to be changed (they had dips into them) and some extra harder pillows... Maybe just as a note: the sliding glass door at the toilet does not really create a discreet space :D + I don't get why the second floor towards the exterior jacuzzi has a balcony without any delimitation between rooms... The second room in the chalet part is smaller, but if you prefer a rustic charm, maybe that is the idea to get it in otherwise a modern environment.

For skiers, you cannot have a better location (aside the Elizabeth hotel) - next door to the main ski lift! The hotel ski rental and attending stuff are exactly what you need in terms of service.

The outside jacuzzi and the sauna chalet offer an added charm and when there is a lot of snow they look great in the torch lights.

What is sure is that you'll be nicely taken care of so that not to have any headache while skiing and getting back from the slopes to a nice cosy place. When something does not work as you expect, just ask -the stuff is really great and attentive!

P.S. it is always interesting to also notice the great mix of nationalities in the guest pool, different types of crowd (from big men-only groups outside kids' holidays times to families with kids when schools are off to couples of all ages) and...social behaviors... Last being noted, sometimes the atmosphere can become pretty raucous :P

We got a late bed and breakfast package for a few nights; it wasn’t cheap but not too expensive.

We didn’t want half board as we’d eaten in their restaurant before in the evening and it was ridiculously expensive and not very nice; friends who’d stayed there half board were fed up with eating there every night. Mind you if you get bored with the daily fare they advertise steak for an extra 50 euros on top of the half board price!!!! To put this in context you can eat a really good meal in the town including wine for 50 euros.

The room was comfortable but small.

The spa is good; so too is the boot room (there is a brilliant attendant there full time who serviced our skis for a good price. The access to lifts is good.

The front desk were OK - one girl was super helpful but the others not so good. We had in advance requested non allergenic bedding and it was a struggle getting it, for example.

Their hot chocolate was neither hot nor did it have much chocolate in it - but to be fair when I complained they re did it very well.

Breakfast was good, and the restaurant service excellent.

So overall it was good and we’d go back for B and B but it’s not really cosy or personal. We’ve stayed in better places in Ischgl.

It’s not child or family oriented at all.
