We stayed at the Verwall for a week in February and had an amazing time. The hotel is positioned on the edge of the village, which is great as it means that you're never disturbed by rowdy revellers but does, however, mean that you've got a bit of a hike, (only around 5-10 minutes), to the centre of Ischgl to get the ski lift up into the mountains. If the walk is too much then it's worth mentioning that there's also the option of hopping onto a ski bus which stops outside.

The hotel has a very nice, compact ski room which is kept lovely and warm and has heated lockers for each room which are opened with your room card. We opted to walk to and from the ski lift in our ski boots as the locker kept them so beautifully warm, but hired our skis from Sport Adler, (they have a partnership with the hotel), and were able to store the skis there for free each evening meaning that we didn't have to lug them to and from the hotel with us.

The main highlight of the Verwall, for us, was the customer service which is simply amazing. Every single one of the staff will go out of their way to help you in any way that they can and will do their best to make sure that you have a fantastic holiday. They have great staff and it was nice to see that many of them have a lovely sense of humour too! Our experience with the hotel was fantastic - from our first contact with them via email right through to (very sadly) leaving to come home.

The newly renovated bar area in the Verwall has to be mentioned - it is beautiful and it's so very nice to stay at a ski hotel where there is ample room to have a leisurely drink and a chat about the days adventures. The food is also very good and we enjoyed a varied, and very tasty, menu throughout the week. We had a couple of permanently hungry teenage boys with us and we were asked several times at dinner if they'd had enough to eat or if they'd like a bit extra. It's that sort of personal attention that we really appreciated and that gives the Verwall an edge over many other hotels meaning that'd we'd very happily return in the future.

Overall we loved this hotel. It had everything that we needed in a ski hotel and the lovely bar area and fantastic customer service elevate it above many other hotels that we've stayed at. We all very much hope to come back sometime!

Great hotel - we went as a group of snowboarders, and could not really fault the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, dinners were very good. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the staff attentive and helpful. A major re furb is planned for the summer, so the downstairs will have a bigger bar area, which would be good. In a great location 2 mins from town, but quiet enough not to be awoken by the busy night life. Would reccomend!

First impression of this hotel was fantastic as we were personally greeted upon our arrival by the owners and escorted to our room, which was much larger than expected. Plenty of room for four adults! The hotel itself is situated just on the edge of the village, but only a 5min walk to the main A1 gondola. What really made Hotel Verwall stand out was their excellent food. Lots of options for breakfast, and delicious 5-course meals for dinner. On top of that, they were more than accommodating for my husband who needs to eat gluten free. Overall, affordable prices, excellent food and good location! We would absolutely stay here again.

In an area known for its excesses (at least in the ski season), the Verwall rests quietly on the town’s borders. This family-run hotel may not bowl you over with an extensive offer of wellness facilities, but you will get a good night’s sleep and eat very well.

Both while booking by phone and once we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. As a bonus for booking directly we received vouchers for the road tolls, which we really appreciated.

Our room was large and bright, facing the south, and afforded fantastic views of the mountains. We were happy also to get an indoor parking space in the garage below the hotel.

The hotel was a great basis for our biking holiday, and is only about a 5-minute walk to the main action in town. Considering that it’s in Ischgl, the hotel is very good value for the money.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing south
