“excellent location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2011

the staff at the st peter house was so accomodating. when we booked on priceline we had said that there would be a teenage boy with us as well, but that didnt show up on the reservation. the staff switched us from a one full bed to a two bed suite even though it was a very busy weekend. the airconditioning worked like a dream in our room, we kept it at a frigid 60 degrees the entire duration of our stay to cope with the heat. everyone else on this forum seems to be complaining about the size and noise and smell, our room was large and clean, we got a huge stack of fresh towels daily. the service was excellent. this is the place to go if you need a place to crash after hitting bourbon street (only 2 blocks away!). there is nothing fancy, a clean room, airconditoning and a bed; but this is the french quarter in new orleans! why stay in the hotel when you should be going out and seeing the sights?!?

we loved our stay and the location! when we return to new orleans we will be staying here!

We loved this little hotel in the heart of the French Quarter, with it's central court yard, coffee and ice machine. We had booked for 4 nights and then extended to 5. Lady on the desk who booked us in was friendly and approachable and the housekeeping staff were very nice and do a great job. We had more housekeeping attention, cleaning, fresh towels etc than in many other places in the States - so only have good things to say about that aspect.
The location and character are good for trade, but the one downside for us, was that the electric tripped out and the maintenance man had to come into our room in the evening to access this as it was in a cupboard in our room. This was not convenient, but because it wasn't his fault we didn't make a fuss about it.
Oliver the cat does not bother anyone and does a good job of sitting still in the courtyard.

Room Tip: Our room was next to the ice machine and was fine - except if there is a problem with the electric a...

I booked 3 nights at the St. Peter House. It was a good rate for being so close to Bourbon Street so I decided to just go with it. I wish I had visited this site first! The first room they booked me in smelled like no one had been in there for months. It was musky, and gross. The TV was all snowy and didn't show a clear picture. I asked to switch rooms and they put me upstairs. At first glance it looked much better. I came back at night only to discover the shower faucet was busted so ONLY scalding hot water was coming out, the toilet seat was half off, there was no remote control for the AC so I had to get on the bed, straddle the dresser, and adjust it from standing on the dresser. The internet doesn't work upstairs, and to top it all off...THERE WAS DRIED BLOOD ON MY SHEETS!!! I tried to get a refund for my remainding 2 nights I pre-paid for from Heidi at the front desk and she said there was nothing she could do. Pay a little more money and go up a few blocks to the Prince Conti!! You'll thank me for it!!

Room Tip: there is no good room here!

Filthy snake pit in Nola that complains when you need a roll of toilet paper. Has cheap toilet paper that doesn't accomodate 2 people to a room. Rooms have filthy walls, backed up toilets and filthy mold on the shower curtains. Stay clear of this place and it isn't inexpensive to stay here either. Staff is rude and ignorant. Cleaning staff are good but treated as slaves by other workers there.

The room was small. But the air conditioning was FANTASTIC! After being out in the heat and humidity, it was nice to come back to the room and cool off. The water pressure in the tub was good.
Our TV didn't work, and I don't believe that the phone did either.
It had a cute little courtyard, and the tables and chairs set up along the balcony really made the ambience.
Being that it's a couple streets away from the hectic activity of Bourbon street, it was fairly quiet.
There are not extra amenities like a pool, spa, fitness center. It great for a cool place to stay and a place to keep your belongings.
