Had my first meal back in New Orleans after long journey from England. We were made very welcome. I started with some amazing shrimps that were substantial and incredibly fresh. For a main I tried the Rosemary fettuccine that was served with a tasty and unusual rabbit ragout. Food was authentically Italian but with a local twist. Very happy to recommend this place.

The service was fantastic, Melissa did an excellent job taking us through the menu and creating an experience for us. However, the food fell a little short. We ordered the burrata salad, which had peaches and some sort of glaze, the tuna tartare, the shrimp and pork cheek entree, and the carbonara. The burrata salad had 4 slices of peaches to a load of burrata. The tuna tartare was delicious! I had the carbonara which was alright. My husband had the pork cheek and shrimp and found the shrimp to be quite fishy. We chose to do the zeppole for dessert which we found to be disappointing. It had a chocolate hazelnut sauce with it that tasted like watered down chocolate. Overall a pretty disappointing meal, especially for New Orleans.

Family owned and operated with pride. Wonderful attentive staff. We were warmly welcomed by the owner's mother and promptly seated at the time of our reservation. Not an overly extensive menus. Highlights of our visit was halibut and bucatini carbonara. Both were delicious. A nice find on Magazine St.

My husband and I have just had the best dinner we have had all summer. We dined at AVO in New Orleans. The atmosphere, the service and the cuisine were incredible. We live in New Orleans and dine out frequently and this was the finest dinner all around that we have had! AVO is remarkable!

Really nice Italian food in Uptown. Menu just big enough to be interesting, food well executed, and nice drink menu. Wait staff super as well.

Only negative is patio space is loud. Outdoor patio of prior establishment has been enclosed and air conditioned. With concrete floors and metal roof it is loud, especially if you are seated next to a gaggle of women celebrating a birthday.

If want to be able to hear yourself think, make sure to ask for a table inside.
