Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best location, just as pictured
This is the perfect place if you like to be within walking distance of the music clubs on one side and the French Quarter on the other side but in a residential area. The decor is pretty and practical. Our hosts were very friendly and communicative and left us bread, milk, butter and eggs for breakfast. There is a coffeehouse nearby. The streetcar is a medium or short walk depending on which line. I recommend visiting the nearby state jazz museum also. There is currently some weekday construction noise but hopefully that will be done soon.

Great place
We came down during NBA all star weekend and this was a gem. Located a short walk to the French quarter and a reasonable walk to canal / bourbon street. Great amenities and the information provided by owner was incredibly helpful with our stay. I rate 5 stars.

Erik was a fantastic guest! From start to finish, he was courteous, respectful and he took extra care to leave the home in immaculate condition. We highly recommend him to other hosts and we would happily welcome him back in the future.

Highly recommend.
This is the first time I booked through trip advisor and I was beyond satisfied with this cottage. This home comes with a wonderful story and it is decorated in a clean modern design. It is immaculate and it has all the comforts of an upscale hotel with the space and amenities of a modern cottage. There was fresh eggs, milk, butter, bread, coffee, tea, and all the necessities in the well stocked cabinets which was an unexpected and rare treat. I will be recommending this rental to my friends and family.

Love it, love it, love it.
What a fantastic home away from home, well presented, comfortable and modern...cannot fault the accommodation nor the service throughout the booking process and stay..our host was fantastic. As for Marigny, it is a beautiful place to stay; there is a cute cafe nearby and not far to walk to the French quarter. We felt safe and everyone we met was so friendly...we absolutely loved where we stayed and New Orleans...certainly want to come back and do it all again. Love it, love it, love it.

Amazing Place
What a amazing place to stay with an amazing history behind the house. House is very well kept and modern feel. Who Dat Cafe one block away for great coffee and breakfast. Located very close to frenchman street which is very artsy but great feel. You will want to uber to bourbon st as it would be a hike to get there. I will stay here again.

What really impressed me was the owners hospitality
We found this place a perfect home base for our family vacation to New Orleans. The location is only a few blocks from Frenchman Street, which we found the best area to have dinner. The French quarter is just a couple blocks more but it was a mad house with St. Patrick’s Day when we were there, so we were glad to be staying in a quieter part of town. One block from the cottage is a place called Who Dat Cafe, where my wife and I went every morning for coffee outside while our teenager kids slept in. The cottage was clean and spacious enough for the family. We have two teenage boys and one ended up sleeping on the sofa – which apparently, he liked. It has a full kitchen which we used quite a bit and a full size washer and dryer. Also, I love the way this place is decorated – minimalist and stylish. Over all, it felt a lot like home. What really impressed me was the owners hospitality. They thought of everything I think. All the soaps, dish detergent, paper towels, laundry detergent, Netflix, etc. But what really got me was the way they load the fridge with the essentials (eggs, milk and butter). We had already done some shopping at the nearby Natural Foods grocery store but seeing that they set us up with this stuff made me feel like they really cared about our stay and I really appreciated it.

Outstanding
We were looking for a more authentic experience so we chose to stay in a private home versus a hotel. The location ended up being perfect! A few minutes walk to the French Quarter and also only a few blocks to Frenchmen Street, where we ended up spending all our nights. The design of the home was a very cool mash-up. Quality in the details. It was immaculate and it had all of the comforts we needed and more. We didn’t cook that much, but it was nice to have a real kitchen to make breakfast in since we found the organic market a few blocks away. Plus, we were walking distance to the hip restaurants in the Marigny and the Bywater. Didn’t even have a chance to use the Apple TV/Netflix. The patio was very cute and a nice place to sit and have a cup of the local (yummy!) coffee in the quiet of the morning. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating and their guide is awesome! We’re already planning our return trip with friends!

One word: love, Love, LOVE!
I was surprised at what a great location this actually is since I didn’t know the area beforehand, but it was right next to the French Quarter so I thought I’d give it a shot. WAY better than staying in the Quarter—close but far. And quiet. The house was amazing: an antebellum Creole cottage on the outside and a chic modern loft on the inside. Comfort. And details. Loved the exposed brick. Loved the clawfoot tub. Loved the amenities. It had everything we needed and more!

The perfect place to stay for spending time on Frenchman Street and in the French Quarter.
My wife and I went to New Orleans with another couple to repeat a trip that we took in 2012. The first time we went, we stayed in the Monteleone. It was very nice, but there wasn't a great place for us to hang out with our friends other than the bar. We also found that we spent most of our time in the evenings listening to music on Frenchman Street rather than in the craziness of the Quarter. Because of those 2 factors, we looked for different options for accommodations for this trip. We could not be happier with what we found. The neighborhood is quiet, and very interesting. We spent a good bit of time walking around and looking at houses and churches. Its only a couple of blocks to Frenchman Street, so we had an easy walk home every night. Its also an easy walk to the quarter. Parking can be a huge challenge in NOLA, and we were happy to have a convenient place to park. We also spent a lot of time in the Garden District. That is a little bit of a drive, but we had easy access to the main routes from Elysian Fields, so that worked out well too. The house is in impeccable condition. The furniture and decor were modern and very cool. The kitchen has everything you need, and the beds are very comfortable. Everything was absolutely spotless when we arrived. This house also has a very interesting history, and the owner has a cool book to tell more about it. I can't say enough good things about this house or the owners. We had a great experience and I highly recommend it.
