Description: The Pelican Club, offering a wide range of fabulous New Orleans dishes, consists of three dining rooms and a large bar fashioned from a handsome, 19th-century French Quarter townhouse, rising from the corner of Bienville Street and Exchange Place in the heart of the French Quarter. Owner, Richard Hughes, and his wife, Jean Stinnett-Hughes, transformed a neglected architectural gem into a welcoming restaurant decorated in a crisp blend of traditional and contemporary. Each room has its own ambiance, created with such diverse elements as burnished Louisiana cypress, contemporary paintings by New Orleans artists, antique prints, and the dramatic contrast of black-leather banquettes against cream-colored brick walls. Such an atmosphere is sure to make your meal feel like a truly New Orleans experience.

Very so-so. Just okay service and over priced menu. Sea food was just sea food, could have made it in my our kitchen. Not worth it. Disappointed.

I went to the Pelican Club with two business guests. Both ordered the fresh fish special and were quite impressed. I had the lamb rack. It was delightful. I really like this place.

Charming restaurant in a lovely side street. We ate in the bar area overlooking the street. Lovely setting. Mike (front of house) and Ron (Server) were simply amazing, as was the food. They also had a Child’s menu for our 11 year old daughter. The wine list was extensive and varied to suit all tastes and budgets.
We’re we’re glad to have stumbled upon this place and would return again if we revisit New Orleans.

Went with a business group and sat in the back dining room. I’m not sure how the restaurant has survived. Fun front bar on picturesque street but nothing has changed inside. Surprisingly the food was very good. Our table enjoyed the tuna poke appetizer and the Gulf fish and whole fish were lovely. Unfortunately I’m not sure the ladies room had been dusted since 1980 and our server, while pleasant, really wanted to be anywhere else. It seemed old school French Quarter but so tired you’d be better off just sipping a cocktail outside.

Had a great meal for 6 people last week. Was a recommendation from a colleague. The baked oysters were heavenly. The whole crispy halibut was the best ever. Cannot go wrong with the restaurant.
