We had great good here during revillian, a celebratory Xmas season multi- course meal. The turtle soup and gumbo soup are excellent as were the shrimp and oyster appetizers. The drum fish meunière with crab entre is truly special. The restauranteur host is lovely but the server we had was rude and strange and the bar service ignored us when we arrived. If they can fix the service, then it would be five stars. I noticed other recent trip advisor reviews also noticed service issues so I hope the restaurant listens and rectifies this as it is a shame to have a restaurant with such wonderful food not to have friendly caring service to match.

This was fine dining but all the dishes were influenced by New Orleans either by creole spices or southern produce and fish. I had duck with a fresh peach sauce which was superb.

Want to feel like you are a guest in someone’S beautiful home for a delicatable dinner....then go hear. Miss JoAnne is on top of her game here and the menu is fantastic. It was so good we went back a second night during our stay. From the 12 hour roasted duck, to the drum with crabmeat, to the unbelievable tender lamb shank...nothing will disappoint you at this fantastic restaurant. Away from the bustling crowds in the French Quarter and among her fine collection of art work displayed in the restaurant, the setting and food should not be missed.

loved the multi-course meal as we tried dishes we likely would not have venture to (duck soup and quick fried oysters were fantastic) as well as ordering guilt free some we wanted to have (fried green tomato with shrimp remoulade best we have ever tasted). Add to this the personal welcome by Miss JoAnn, we felt welcomed and like we belonged.

This establishment has high ratings, which in my view is only somewhat derserved. On the plus side it is something out of the ordinary and the food IS good. The place itself does not leave much of an impression and the service was most peculiar. At one point my business guest asked for another glass of wine and our waiter kinda paused like truly considering if he would make the effort. After a - for us - odd moment of internal momologue, he gave in to our request. We laughed amongst ourselves, but other guests may have found it rather rude. Go for the experience if that to you is worth the extra dollar.
