Jacques-Imo’s is a quirky restaurant with fabulous cocktails (watermelon mojitos, hurricanes) fun atmosphere and most importantly amazing food. Everything we ordered was delicious! (BBQ shrimp, fried chicken, shrimp étouffée). Don’t hesitate to travel away from city for this local gem!

A friend turned me on to Jacques-Imo's about ten years ago. I've gone every time I get to New Orleans. The food is wonderful – delicious, with many menu standouts & specials. The corn muffins are great, even the little fried oysters they put on your spinach salads. About an hour's ride on the St. Charles Streetcar from the French Quarter – and worth it. But if you don't get there when they open, prepare to wait for a good half hour or more.

With such a great menu, and awesome specials, it was very hard to pick just one. I chose 2 appetizers: the Crabmeat Stuffed Shrimp and the Brussels Sprouts. Both were extremely good!! Very artsy, eclectic New Orleans decor. Will definitely return in the future.

made a planned decision to go here after talking about it alot on a last trip to NOLA but just not getting around to it because there are so many amazing places all within the FQ. so very glad we made it happen. we took the st Charles street car which stops 3 blocks away...we ate so much that the way home we walked first before hopping on again past Tulane. the restaurant style appears to be a renovated home but has retained so much eclectic charm and guys right in to the neighborhood.
the food really was one of the best meals ever! alligator cheesecake you really must try! also had boudin balks as we've made that a thing to try at every restaurant on this trip - the best yet! my husband had the mixed fried chicken
and couldn't finish it all i had the soft shell crab special called Godzilla. huge portion and a mix of flavors that all came together perfectly...left with a to go for a snack later! so glad we made the choice to get out of the FQ for a meal.

Excellent dishes prepared with love. Service was also fantastic. The place is decorated like a very cool folk art paradise... But the food steals the show ! A must on your visit to NOLA!
