This condo was just right for our sister trip to New Orleans. It's just one block from the French Quarter and the street cars, so we were able to do just what we wanted easily. The condo is a nice size and well appointed. The building's concierges were friendly and happy to answer all our questions. The only drawback for us was the lack of an outdoor space, but we spent all day every day outdoors, so we were happy to stay in the condo once we got back.
A bit beat up, terrible wifi, sheet was ripped, stupid that I had to take out the garbage when there's a 130 dollar cleaning fee tacked on. It brought my price from 200 to 400 with the fee and taxes, not including parking. Noise was awful. Pool is about the size of a kids pool. I just booked it because I was in a crunch. I would NOT recommend staying here. Oh, and apparently the washer/dryer combo only worked when washing. According to other tenants, none of the drying functions on the machines work so you have to go to the 11th floor to dry your clothes. Kind of defeats the purpose. It is close to the French quarter though.
The unit itself is nice and comfortable, especially when staying for a few days. The full kitchen was very useful and appreciated. The building was nicely maintained and the little coffee breakfast place downstairs was a true highlight.
Now, with that said, we won't be staying here again which is unfortunate because we really wanted to love the place. First, the internet never worked. We could connect to the network, but we were never able to get online. We ended up having to connect using our mobile hotspot. I called about this the first night and was told I would be getting a follow up call from the building management since they were the ones that handle the internet. Never happened, even after calling again a couple days later. Second, when I first called about the internet issue, I also informed them about other things that needed attention in the apartment. Again, nothing ever happened to fix them. One issue was the lighting in the bathrooms; only one worked and made it difficult to see properly, especially as a woman trying to get ready for a night out. Another issue, which was probably the most annoying one, was the water heater and pressure. Only one faucet could be on at a time to maintain decent water pressure and heat. We couldn't even run the sink faucet without it significantly taking away from the shower pressure and heat.
Another thing that made this place a uncomfortable was the shower design. It's a regular shower tub, but they installed a glass partition on half of the tub. This not only made bathing our toddler difficult, but it didn't help with keeping any warmth while showering. It would have been much better and easier to have a curtain instead.
Lastly, the exterior walls are very thin. We understand it's NOLA and it's loud all the time, but this was pretty bad. We could hear people having a conversation on the street. Not sure if it's the walls or the windows, but either way, it was a bit frustrating when you are trying to sleep at 2 am. Oh, and it really sucked that the blinds kept no light out during the day. It wouldn't hurt if some light blocking curtains were installed.
The location is convenient to everything in the French Quarter, the convention center is a quick ride, great coffee and beignet shop at corner, controlled access safe and quiet building, very nicely furnished and maintained 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment. Much more hospitable than a hotel.
Easy to find and check in. The unit was clean and nicely stocked. Parking was convenient and the location was walkable to the French Quarter and attractions. The only negative was that we did not receive the unit pictured with the bay window and view. It was not terribly important for our purposes, but slightly disappointing because this view was a brick wall and the unit was slightly smaller than what we expected from the photos. Otherwise, we were very pleased!
