Description: Serving Lunch on Fridays, Dinner nightly and Sunday Jazz Brunch. Restaurant R'evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning Chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto offering modern, imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chefs' interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as "the swamp floor pantry." Tableside service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying. Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries. Desserts showcase classical New Orleans sweets done in a new and contemporary way.

Wonderful dining experience, highly recommend. The crab beignets for an appetizer, followed by duck and wild rice, superb. The staff is amazing, really take pride in looking after you. Our servers Travis and Colin did a fantastic job of describing the menu, answering questions and offering suggestions. The dessert in a jewelry box presentation afterward was a classy and tasteful touch. Nice environment, great location in FQ.

Super service and attention to detail was great. The shrimp and grits were exceptional. As this is the best restaurant that we have ate at in New Orleans there are a lot of great things to say about the food from the cheeses to oysters revolution for appetizers to the deserts in the box. The old fashions are also a very special drink they make. If you are in New Orleans you need to make this a restaurant a must!

Everything about the evening was wonderful, from the bread/butter offering to the final surprise box of sweets. The wait staff is the most professional we've encountered in New Orleans. Dinners are well put together in terms of what is offered, and they are perfectly prepared. We came to New Orleans to eat. This was a fitting choice for our final meal.

I have been lucky enough to dine at excellent restaurants in many countries on many continents. Among the top tier R'evolution is at the pinnacle.

Chef John Folse has created a menu, a staff, a wine list, that is about as close to perfection as a restaurant could ever be. The food was spectacular, the presentation a work of art, the wait staff warm, helpful and wonderful, and the whole restaurant experience awesome.

Dinner at R'evolution is reason enough to visit New Orleans!

There are some comments below that the restaurant is expensive. Well, it's not in McDonald's price range if that is your criteria, but measured against great restaurants elsewhere it is great value. Your dollar here goes a long way! No matter how you measure it, R'evolution is a deal and would still be a deal if menu prices were up 50% --- and, as I hope to return I also hope Chef Folse doesn't personally read these reviews and get ideas of reprinting his menu before I return.
