In hopes of avoiding the weekend noise and crowds, we chose to arrive on a Sunday for 3 nights. Even so, we did hear security on that Sunday night, on three different occasions, trying to quieten the people at a room down the hall. Other than that unwelcomed bit of excitement, we did enjoy our stay at this hotel. There was a young woman, from Simmesport, who did an excellent job of checking us in; she was courteous, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is old, but that is part of its charm and they have done a very good job of maintaining it through the years. It is located in a quieter area than most other hotels. We had a room with two beds located on the third floor and it had a small balcony. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There is self-parking behind the hotel and our vehicle was convenient; however, since we were so close to all the sites in the French Quarters, we chose to leave it parked for our stay. There is a café downstairs, but we did never did find the time to try it out; although, we did hear good reviews about it. Complimentary coffee was offered in the lobby in the morning; tea was offered in the café. It was a good stay and we would definitely stay here again; although we may choose to arrive on a Monday next time.

Room Tip: Outer rooms have a good view, but a little street noise. Inner rooms have a view of the pool.

I found the Le Richelieu through a google search and booked because of the wonderful reviews that were placed on Trip Adviser. I was not disappointed, The motel is full of charm and beauty, the staff are so very friendly, Marly, Rebecca at reception, Jennifer, Brian behind the bar and Dianne also from reception helped to make our stay one of the best I have ever had.
The Motel is located in a fabulous position close to everything in the french quarter, Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, the French Market and the New Orleans Trolley are only a short walk away. The courtyard around the pool is a lovely place to relax when not out doing touristy things.
I highly recommend this Motel to anybody wishing to have a great time in New Orleans. We certainly did.

Got hotel from Tourist info, special rates. Easy check in, car park at rear through electric operated gates using a mobile device. Lift and corridors smelt musty. Hotel had a heated small pool which was used by ourselves and was very pleasant, clean towels at poolside next to the only ice machine. Room large 2 queen beds, walk in wardrobe, shower over bath, fridge but no microwave. AC was good but not controllable, room also had a ceiling fan. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Beds were very comfortable. Room was quiet for whole stay. Staff very friendly. Hotel also had a small restaurant that did breakfast and lunch only, menu limited. Would stay again if ever to visit New Orleans again.

This quaint hotel had a great front desk and a super little cafe. We encountered a mattress problem and they replaced it after we complained. Great staff who are very helpful. A good bargain with an authentic ambience. We would stay there again.

This is a quaint hotel where the rooms seems to be all different. We had 4 rooms on the same floor but the layout is each one was different but all great! The hotel staff were wonderful, friendly and downright amazing!! Very clean and very close to the action yet far enough away to not hear all the craziness of the nightlife. We will definitely stay here next time we visit the French Quarter!!! Thanks for a great stay!!
