Owner description: The partying never stops on Bourbon Street, the French Quarter's liveliest and wildest thoroughfare, where the rhythmic sounds of jazz, country western, Dixieland and sultry blues permeate the air. Brimming with life, you'll find everything from shopping to music to Cajun food to nightclubs.

Don’t get me wrong. We love New Orleans and really love the French Quarter. We visit frequently. But we stay away from Bourbon Street most of the time. To us this is the “kiddie zone”. If all you want to do is get hammered then this is the street for you. The only street in the Quarter lined with frozen daiquiri and cheap pizza slice shops tells the story. Get loaded quickly and cheaply, then line your innards with the cheapest junk food possible so you can drink more! There is some good music to be found if you can fight through the crowd of inebriated kiddies regurgitating their nights intake in the alleys. The people watching is spectacular! But I recommend you do this from one of the balconies overlooking Bourbon St. Better view and no chance of being run over by 21 year olds who cannot hold their liquor. Always a show! Always loud and boisterous. Always filled with annihilated 20 something’s looking for a place to publicly pass out, throw up or relieve themselves. Definitely a sight! The truth is we are glad Bourbon Street is what it is. It keeps the rest of the Quarter free of youthful undesirables. And the rest of the Quarter is tremendous for it.

Great if you are really looking for a rowdy night. LOTS of bars. More rowdy than musical. A few great art galleries, but found royal street to be nicer

Hit some really great spots for Jazz/blues. Tourists stink up the place with plastic trash and and public urination.

This place is unique like no other place and yet it’s dirty and gross too. It’s a must see just once. If you’re a non drinker, this is not the place to hang for long. People watching is fun.

We came down here at 0700 to do a history tour. There were people filing out of one of the bars with fresh beers. There are dozens of places on this street to get a variety of drinks, from the most exclusive bourbons to some hellish drink called a hand grenade. You can get an incredible meal or just one that will soak up the booze. You can hear the blaring music guided by a disk jockey, or listen to a lively jazz band or a world class pianist. Definitely adult world once the sun goes away, but we definitely saw the bars getting busy by 3PM on a Saturday afternoon, so bear that in mind. Incredible place to visit.
