This place was simply wonderful! Came here for the Public Image Limited Concert and was highly impressed. One of the best smaller concert venues I have been to. Great atmosphere, great crowd, and overall great vibe. Not to mention the seats were comfortable as well! The staff is also very helpful and friendly. Best bartenders I have ever came across at a concert venue. Cannot wait to come back!!

The New Orleans Burlesque Festival was in town September 20 - 22. We purchased tickets to the Friday night "Mondo" show at the Civic. The show(s) were what Burlesque used to be, versus today's ubiquitous pole dancing. The show was emceed by a local comedian (apparently of some local renown -- we're not from NOLA so maybe not...).

Eight different artists performed -- some established acts and a couple of up-and-comers. Emphasis was on "performance" versus erotica. Still not a "family friendly" show, but nothing that would make an Episcopalian blush (Presbyterians probably would have been a bit uncomfortable, though...)

We discovered that Fridays are "fee free Fridays" at the Civic box office, so our $40 second-row tickets did not have the usual handling and agent fees that most ticketing venues love to add. Yay Civic Theater!

Renovated old theater, said to seat 1200. Came by one evening for a Trey Anastasio concert and he was fine. Sound can be a bit muddled at times and the lines for beverages were very long. Great for the young and young at heart

Attended a wedding here recently. Old style theater that has been renovated for parties, weddings, etc. but still holds concerts and other events. Old time and well preserved. Beautiful exterior alley for photo opportunities.
