A must see on Sunday, even if not Catholic. An awe inspiring interior makes this worth the trip from anywhere.

What a beauty! Sitting at one end of Jackson Square it all its white glory overlooking the gardens and acitivity. Inside it is quiet and restful with lovely artwork and full of history. There is a small gift shop near the entrance on the left side of the church.

Take time from the hustle of NOLA and escape to this place of peace for a few minutes. You won't regret it.

My grandmother was Baptized here in 1917 so my family and I always visit and light a candle and say a prayer after we leave Café Du Monde. It is a short walk around Jackson Square.

Of course you can't miss the St. Louis Cathedral near the river. It is a free entry and a blessed respite from the gritty and noisy French Quarter.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the artwork in the cathedral and reading about it in the helpful brochure. Then sat and relaxed in the coolness and listened to the chant they had playing. Nice downtime after touring and shopping. I understand it closes at 4 pm most days. Missed the gift shop which closed at 3 pm.
