I love the French Quarter. My husband and I make a point to visit the French Quarter annually and this last October, I took my mom for her first time. The people are friendly, the shops are great, the food is amazing and some of the drinks you can get are heavenly. I would highly recommend you visit the French Quarter and try a few things. I am not a fan of Bourbon Street but do recommend you go at least once to see it.

So many words to describe the places, people, atmosphere of this neighbourhood but in the end it is like no other. Bourbon Street was torn up a bit to replace the pipes due to recent flooding but that does not stop people from trying to get you into their restaurants, bars, stores. A lot to offer, great food, music, history.

Massive market with hundreds of booths for souvenirs, multiple small eateries to satisfy any craving. Must Visit

Lovely to stroll around and admire the architecture, plus lots of street musicians to listen too. There are lots of hustlers around - it doesn’t feel unsafe but advise you not to get into conversation. One scam is to ask about your shoes then squirt soap on them and demand payment for washing them.

Nothing beats the French Quarter for fun, food, and people watching. I love the laid-back vibe the entire area has. My wife and I really appreciate the nice antique shops on the many side streets just off of bourbon st.
