We have lived in Madison for 20+ years and have eaten at many of its highest rated restaurants but none compare to Naples 15. Chef Sal and his staff are absolute gems and always makes everyone feel welcome and at home. We have tried several things on the menu and have never been disappointed. Chef Sal selects only the finest ingredients and takes great pride in what he serves, and it shows in both the presentation and taste. Some of our favorites are the mussels, calamari, sea bass, lobster ravioli and wood-fired pizzas. The portion sizes are very generous so come hungry. They have a wonderful wine selection and the bar staff is very knowledgeable. You will absolutely want to save room for dessert (my favorite is the baba) and make sure you get a coffee to go with it!

Our most recent visit to Naples 15 was this past Saturday, August 19 with three couples. As always, Chef Sal was very warm and enthusiastic in greeting us as we came in the door, even though the joint was jumpin'.

We started by splitting the Margherita’s Pizza between us, which was excellent. This was followed by one of the special appetizers of the night suggested by Chef Sal, the calamari. To a person, everyone mentioned that they weren't big fans of calamari, but we were impressed with the flavor of this special. Our last treat before the entrees was three Insalata alla Caprese (fresh mozzarella, fresh cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil) salads that we shared between the three couples. Again, everyone was effusive in their praise for this salad.

Now for the entrees. The top vote getter was the Ravioli all' Aragosta (home-made ravioli filled with fresh lobster, covered in a white Malvasia cream sauce, shallots, white truffle oil, & Parmigiano Reggiano). Absolutely superb, but very rich. It would be a great appetizer, but I enjoyed the entire dish, after letting everyone sample it. Next was the Chateaubriand "Roast of Romance" As the menu states, "This elegant roast-size filet mignon is absolutely delicious and tender beyond belief!" They aren't lying. The Ziti al Re Di Napoli, ziti served with a slow cooked, two meat ragu sauce, was the choice of two of our dining party, and was probably the most "traditional" Italian dish among our choices. The meat was wonderful and the ziti perfectly prepared. Finally, my wife ordered the Paccheri Do'Marenare (the flavor of the sea; delicious prawns, scallops, clams, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and cherry tomato on a bed of paccheri pasta). She absolutely loved the seafood, but felt the paccheri pasta was slightly overwhelming for the dish. (Full disclosure: she is not a big pasta lover, so take that comment with a grain of salt... so to speak.)

During the meal, we polished off a number of bottles of Italian Pinot Noir and Cabernet that were exquisite.

Now, whatever you do, LEAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! And order the Baba, a small sponge cake (it used to be a pastry, but the sponge cake is a superior substitute), saturated with rum and filled with fresh pears, & cream. It is heavenly.

The one suggestion I have for the wait staff is to fill up the water glasses more often, or offer larger glasses of water.

To sum up: Naples 15, go for the Lobster-stuffed ravioli, stay for the pear and rum sauce dessert!

We visited this lovely restautant on a busy Friday night. Even though we arrived 30 mins earlier than our reservation time, the hostess was able to manage a table for us. The food was AMAZING, from Pizza to Pasta and Ravioli. My favorite is the Linguine del Mare. The scallops, clams and mussels were cooked to perfection, not over done 1 bit.
There was so many dishes we want to try, and we know we will be back for more. We visited many restaurants in Italy, and the food from Naples 15 is on par with the local Italian restaurants there; however the warm hospitality from Naples 15 by far was the best, beyond words. The chef personally spent time with us and treated us with special dessert drinks and cannoli for the 3 of us. Perfect dinner for parents and a 4ys child. We can't recommend this restaurant enough!!!

I have been traveling to Madison for a couple of years and have always counted Naples 15 as one of Madison's best restaurants. The staff are very personable and there is often live music, which is a nice touch. Sometimes I am with a group of colleagues and we let Sal and his great staff determine what dishes will compose our tasty meal, and sometimes I get a meal solo at the bar after visiting the Capital Fitness Gym. Sal's use of quality ingredients is evidenced in the final product.

Perfect night out. Impeccable gnocchi, pizza, and salads. Light desserts. Left satisfied but not disgusted because each dish was perfectly balanced and delicious, but neither oily nor sweet. Wait staff and chef are kind and fun. It feels like home.
