“Relaxing accommodations a few minutes from downtown Hot Springs”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Panther Valley Ranch last summer. The cabins had just the right combination of rustic ranch and modern conveniences. Our family felt relaxed sitting out on the porch, grilling on the barbecue, and fishing in the pond. Our adult kids stayed in the Ranch Suite which was very spacious, and we stayed in the Western Suite right next door; so we had privacy, but were conveniently close by and shared a long porch. We enjoyed a great horseback ride on the property and spent a lot of time enjoying our new friend, Sadie, the ranch owners' dog, who helped keep us from missing our dogs too much.

Great place to relax yet very close Magic Springs & Crystal Falls theme park and not far from Hot Springs downtown if you want to adventure out but plenty to do here such as a horseback ride to the top of the mountain for a steak dinner. Just a great place to go to relax in the country yet close to civilization. We will be back! The people here were also very nice and the place is very easy to get too!

I found Panther Valley Ranch on the internet whilst seeking out a romantic spot to stay near Hot Springs.
Panther Valley Ranch has ten cabins.... Each cabin is unique but every one is a suite with king bed, Jacuzzi and fireplace.
As this was our anniversary I opted for "The Cabin" which was the most private of all the cabins, out by itself in the horse pasture.
Most cabins go for $160 a night. This does not include any meals but all cabins are set up with cooking facilities for self catering.
At weekends they offer a "Steak horseback ride" for $60 extra and this is so worth it. the guide takes you on a horse ride into the mountains and someone is waiting at the top point to cook you steak or chicken.
We did this ride and would recommend it highly
We loved our cabin..with its cedar wood exterior/interior and found the nightly visits to our back porch by the greedy horses to be quite charming. Whilst you felt a part of nature in The Cabin it also had all the mod cons to suite even the most city dweller with AC, Fireplace, two televisions and a DVD player. There is no internet and our phone service was spotty but as this was supposed to be a getaway we didn't mind :)
We met the owner Jim and his son Sam and they were warm and welcoming yet gave us as much distance as we wanted which was a nice balance I found compared to some guesthouses. The cabin was spotlessly clean and the bathroom had a great corner jacuzzi.
It would have been nice if they had provided slightly nicer shampoo or maybe some bubble bath for the tub but these are more suggestions than complaints. the towels were nice and fluffy
Whilst you feel removed from the hustle and bustle here, the historic downtown of Hot Springs is less than a ten minute drive.

We stayed at Panther Valley ranch the weekend after Thanksgiving and it was INCREDIBLE! We really loved staying there. We got in Friday night, and spend the night in our gorgeous suite relaxing (AND we had a mobile massage!) The next morning, we did the one hour horseback ride at the ranch--it's a 3.5 mile trail up through the hills behind the ranch. The horses were calm, the scenery was gorgeous, and our trail guide was really friendly. We also enjoyed watching the ducks swim around the pond at the lodge. One other huge plus was the jacuzzi bathtub in our suite...it was really nice to come home after sightseeing around Hot Springs and be able to relax with a glass of wine in the hot tub!

Overall, I LOVED staying here and definitely plan to come back--sure, it may be a little pricier than other places in the area but it's SOOO worth it. I'd recommend it for a romantic getaway, but I think it would be great for a family also. There were a couple of families staying there on Saturday, and the kids looked like they were having a great time playing horseshoes and running around (and they have a little playground for kids also).
