We stopped in on a whim, really not knowing what to do or where to go. We knew we wanted to at least get a sip of the hot, Hot Springs water. Went into the National Park visitor's center and told them exactly that- The drinkable spring access behind the center was broken- they sent us to the mountain fountain, but that one is cold. We toured this building (pretty interesting) saw the open springs (with lots of algae) behind the building, went up to the mountain observation area, and then happened to find a drinkable hot spring access point on the corner on our way back to parking. It was worth a stop, but it would have been helpful if the park employees were a bit more well, helpful.
