Despite arriving in torrential rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful accommodation and felt like honoured guests. The. service was exceptional and we even had a complimentary gin and tonic before the evening meal during which we were asked if we would like hot water bottles in our bed. Unfortunately the weather was not fine enough to take our meals outside but we did have afternoon tea on the lawn. There was an option to visit the tea plantation but we were happy to relax on the property inside in the morning and later on the lawn on a lounger overlooking the tea plantation. There is no TV and the WiFi was not very strong but that did not seem to matter.

Situated outside Nuwara Eliya, this is a superb hotel with just four rooms. The staff could not do enough to make our stay any better. Food is excellent with the chef taking the time to explain what he was going to cook and then at the end of dinner asking if we enjoyed the meal and enquiring what we wanted for breakfast. Had an early morning walk around the estate with the tour conducted by the manager followed by breakfast on the lawn. We were lucky to be in the Master Suite which had an outside patio area. Happy Hour between 6.30pm and 7.30pm with G&T included in the price. We could have had an inclusive high tea in the afternoon but declined. This was one of he highlights of our holiday so if you get the opportunity to stay here grab it!

The place is amazing for the settings and the services. It's so pretty both inside and outside the bungalow, very tastefully decorated. The services are superb, especially Chamith, who has been taking very good care of my family during the entire stay. Highly recommended!

Stafford Bungalow is an excellent place to stay. Lovely surroundings and a very relaxing atmosphere. All our meals were very tasty and well presented. Good choice at breakfast and we really enjoyed high tea in the gardens. Good G&T before dinner!

The bungalow is beautifully kept with comfortable rooms. The surroundings are nice to take a hike through the locality and tea fields, but unfortunately the weather did not play well. We had to be stuck indoors for quite a considerable time during our stay.

There’s not much you could do here if it’s raining, as no proper activity or person to assist with arranging anything for a bored guest. The few indoor games much suit children and they should find something better to be organized for adults as the bungalow is away from any other hotel. Staff are around during meal times, but then you don’t see them until the next. Food was alright, but having a local meal on a rainy day doesn’t seem to go down well. The other menus on offer are relatively more expensive.

It was a bit of a disappointment considering the similar weather conditions we had during our previous hotel which had efficient staff who were always around to ensure we had something to do and not worry about the unpleasant weather.

Overall not worth the price.
