Excellent reviews on tripadvisor and the beautiful swimming pool attracted us to this 5 star hotel. The staff here are amazing; they always greet us with big smile, always ready to help and very easy to communicate.

This heated pool is the heart of the hotel, overlooks the mountain and rice field behind, I can stay in the pool whole day. I've loved my yoga session there as well. Spa was great but very pricey. The room is massive with large king bed, spa bath, and lovely balcony. We really enjoyed our breakfast and the view from dining area.

Yes, the hotel is quite far from downtown Bali where all the restaurants, bars and parties are. But this is the best place to stay if you are after tranquility and relaxation.

The Padma Ubud has truly been a slice of heaven on earth for my partner and I over the past ten days. From our arrival to our departure, each and everyone of the staff members has been an absolute delight to interact with. The hospitality, friendliness and kindness of the Padma family has been such a delight, and after ten days of relaxation and rejuvenation, we're both incredibly sad to leave. We're already looking forward to returning to Padma Ubud some time in the near future!

Highlights from the Padma Ubud have included: feeding the ravenous fish near the resort entry daily; our tour of the on-site agroforest where you can try the famous king of the fruit, the durian; an Indonesian cooking class on-site with Ketut, Endri and Werni; our romantic dinner hosted by Elta; sunset yoga with Lenu; unwinding at the bar with our wonderful bar men Jason and Mariasa; massages from the wonderful staff in the Padma Spa; and finally, all of the beautiful attentive staff from the Puhu Restaurant including Dejak and Merlin serving us breakfast daily.

It's worthwhile noting that some reviews on Trip Advisor have criticised the Padma for being boring and a little far from Ubud. If you're looking for a fast paced resort close to the nightlife, we'd recommend looking elsewhere. Whilst the Padma Ubud is a short bus ride away from Ubud Central (the resort runs a free shuttle service to and from Ubud five times a day); this resort is really designed for those that wish to unwind, relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surrounds.

As two busy young professionals from Melbourne (Australia) this holiday has surpassed all of our expectations, and we would not hesitate to recommend this resort to our friends and family.

To Eti Rusmiati, Deasy Sagita Navratilova and the Padma Ubud family, terima kasih banyak!

Before arrival:
- We booked 5 rooms from the hotel's website directly and the rooms came with round-trip transfer, 1 x free dinner for 2 persons and free access to tea time at the restaurant
- We were contacted by the hotel regarding our transfer arrangements and pillow preference and they were also quick to respond to our queries on dietary requirements

At the airport:
- We were greeted by a hotel staff who was friendly and helpful. He showed us where to purchase a prepaid sim card and also willing to make a pit-stop to buy lunch (eventually we went straight to the hotel).
- We were ushered into two vehicles as we were a big group - a van and a smaller car. It was spacious with much-needed AC.
- Due to heavy traffic and rain, the 2 hour drive took almost 3 hours to reach the hotel. The hotel is NOT near Ubud Centre - it is 30 mins away.

The hotel:
- The rooms are gorgeous - very spacious, bright and clean. Our balcony overlooked a lawn (we were on the first floor). The toilet is HUGE and has a walk-in wardrobe. There's also a drying 'ladder' in the toilet which warms up when you switch on the red button - very useful when you don't want to hang your wet laundry outside at the balcony or when you want it to dry overnight. There's also an electric mosquito repellent in the rooms (you can easily request for one if your room does not have it).
- Again, the hotel staff were very helpful. The bath tub drain was not working (it could not be pulled up to drain the water) and the housekeeping came shortly after we called to fix it.
- As we arrived late in the afternoon we decided to stay in the hotel for dinner and use our free vouchers. The restaurant was able to accommodate at such short notice (there are 11 of us plus 2 toddlers). Restaurant staff were very helpful to advise regarding our dietary requirements. Portion is good and food tasted wonderful.
- A must do is to grab your breakfast in the hotel - the view is to-die for. The breakfast spread has a wide variety – Asian, Western, and very healthy food. They have labelled each item to meet the various dietary requirements, e.g. vegetarian, beef, pork.
- I’d recommend you to book the spa before arriving as it was quite full when we were there. They are also not able to massage pregnant women.
- We went for daily walks in the morning on the jogging trail. Very easy to maneuver even with small kids and a stroller, however it is quite steep when coming up. The scenery is beautiful, there’s a river right at the bottom where you can take nice photos.
- We did not visit the kids’ club as the pool was more than enough to keep them busy. I would not recommend the bigger pool for the smaller kids as the ‘infinity’ side of the pool just drops onto rocks and may not be safe for the kids. However if you are in the pool with them should be fine. We also ordered food from the pool bar and it wasn’t too costly (SG$42 for pizza, fish and chips and 2 coke).
- The hotel provides a shuttle bus to Ubud Center which was very helpful (30 mins away). Ubud Center has a wide selection of shopping and restaurants. The kids enjoyed feeding the koi fish in the mornings, and the foosball area outside the hotel boutique.
- As our group was splitting up after the trip (most were going home, a small group of us were moving to Club Med in Nusa Dua), the hotel was very kind to arrange for 2 transport – 1 to take the rest to the airport, the other to take us to Nusa Dua. Unfortunately we could not request for late check-out and had to leave the room by 12.30 pm.
- All in all it was a wonderful stay, and we truly enjoyed the hotel.

Room Tip: Choose the higher floors if you want the best views and don't mind the noise from the restaurant.

the best part was the pool and the view, but the receptionist and lobby man were not polite, they had better attitude withe europeans and Australians than asians, at our check out the lobby man didnt let our pick up to know we are waiting in the lobby and we never knew whay?!!! it was realy shocking we were late for our flight and he knew it and he knew the driver is wating for us, i dont know what to say!!!!!! the rooms were modern and nice, good bath top, the restaurants were good too, but the personels of the hotel had realy bad manner, the room service was also very poor.

Room Tip: higher level and in wing B has better view
