This is most definitely a wonderful 5 star experience! The Estate and its team has managed to create an almost dreamlike sense of peace and calm. It is set in the most beautiful grounds which take you from the excellent restaurant, and well-being and massage facilities, down 300 or more steps through lush vegetation, past gorgeous natural rock swimming pools to the rushing river in the valley. Our personal assistant - who was always discreetly there when she was needed - and all the staff were extremely professional and provided wonderful customer service, with nothing too much bother. The food was quite simply superb.
We have one major regret - that our stay was far too short and that we had to leave COMO Shambhala and return to normal life!

Dear Oddbins,

Warmest greetings from COMO Shambhala Estate!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Trip Advisor readers. Your kind words are much appreciated. In the inception and crafting stage of our slice of paradise, we have the meaning of Shambhala – Sacred place of bliss – in mind. We wish that every guest will feel being cocooned in a positive, holistic and healing experience through all aspects – design, facilities, staff, treatments, cuisine, accommodation, community, adventure and culture. It is truly heart-warming to know you feel that way during your stay.

To entice you visiting us soon, we have a very exciting workshop coming soon in May 2018. “The Sleep Awakening” by Tristan Kelly is an opportunity for guests to learn techniques to achieve a deeper, more restful sleep by attending to diet, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and the work-life balance. Let us know if you require more information.

Till the time we can say “welcome back”, we wish you the best always.

Kind regards,
Santiago

Booked a two-night stay in the Garden Room. The room was designed in a traditional Balinese style using natural materials such as wood and bamboo. The entrance to the room was an infinity pool and since there were no other guests at the time, I had the pool all to myself!

The property was absolutely beautiful with vast greenery and rolling hills. The property is so big that they truly make you work to get to the dining area! It would take 10-15 minutes from the room to the dining area, however you could have requested your own butler to pick you up in a golf cart to drive you over (if you wished). I can't fully describe the grandioseness of the property, walking around felt like a set of The Game of Thrones.

As the property was in the middle of the lush forest, it was not uncommon to hear animals throughout the day. I even caught monkeys traipsing outside my room by the pool!

As COMO Shambala is a wellness retreat, during my stay, I benefited myself with yoga classes, learning about the healing power of water and had the pleasure of having a tour of the grounds from my personal butler where I was able to enjoy the springs. The wellness retreat is worth the hype.

No wonder it is an award wining hotel. As a guest you are surrounded by exotic nature. The estate is truly vast. It took the initial owners 4 years just to complete the landscaping and another 5 years to complete the villas.

Service is top notch. Although you are a bit far away from Ubud center, there is a free shuttle which to drop you off and pick you up (One time a day. You can choose the time though.

The restaurant is serving plenty of culinary delights, same goes for the breakfast.

Our travel agent insisted that we should visit this property during our stay in Bali. She was right!
It was an unforgettable experience.
So natural and so luxurious at the same time.
After settling in the magnificent and well (but discreetly) equipped villa we took the walk around the enormous estate. It was a well maintained path through the jungle and by the river, which was leading to natural pools with spectacular view.
What an experience to swim in them and then relaxing on the sun beds.
Later we had an expensive but delicious dinner at Glow restaurant.
Not a long stay but we got an idea of what to expect next time we visit the hotel!
