We had to wait quite some time before staff showed up at the reception. She ordered us to pay right away for our 6 nights. She already added 2,5% extra for creditcard expenses to our bill. She claimed this is standard hotelpolicy everywhere in the world. Huh? No it is not. Yes it is, the girl insisted, basically telling us we’re lying. Welcome to Kusnadi!
Of course we wanted to see the room first, and it looked nice. The room - one of their most expensive ones - is large, and has a huge balcony with a sitting area and two loungers. We suppose the balcony should have a daybed, and a diningtable as well, but they were missing.
As we lowered the two sunscreens, lots of accumulated dirt came out, including a birdsnest with two small eggs that fell to pieces on the floor. We felt bad about that. And what a mess! Housekeeping also missed the women’s panties previous guests left drying on the four-posterbed.
-The open bathroom has an old, small tub, in which you have to shower yourself. There is a cold shower as well, not really a shower, but more a stream of running water coming out of the mouth of a sculpted head (what? yes!), while you stand on pebbles and dirt. The water from the mouth never stops leaking. We did not use that one.
-The hotel often plays loud music in the lobby and restaurant, and we heared that everywhere, including on our balcony (in the back, third floor). Sometimes the music stops, and than the place is nice and peaceful.
Talking about noise: if the neighbours have live music, and they do almost every night, with yelling and screaming guests, then the Kusnadi Hotel is joining the party too. And there is no escape. Remember: this part of Legian is Aussie-area. Plenty of young partylovers, many older couples, some families.
-The hotel has free wifi which shuts itself down after a minute or so on our phones. Restarting the wifi will reconnect your device, but you have to do it again and again.
-The fridge is nice.
-The pool (with some sunloungers) and the (small) garden are nice.
-The hotel offers a free safetydepositbox at the hoteldesk.
-One day we sat in the restaurant for lunch, and no one bothered to bring us menu’s. Staff was chatting at the bar, and showed no interest. So we left.
-Kusnadi is a traditional Balinese style hotel. We read they are renovating, which they should. Still, Kusnadi is not exactly cheap, so we believe they should do better than they do. Wait, do they call themselves ‘the friendliest hotel in Bali’? That is complete and utter nonsense.
-On scale 1-10: 6
-Will we ever come back: not sure
-Value for money: not really

Have stayed here in the past as we love the location, staff and gardens but it is deteriorating quickly. Our bed had no blanket, only sheets which had black stains as did the other linen. We got a blanket when we asked for one but it too was stained. As mentioned previoulsy by 8.30 am not much left on breakfast buffet and not replenished regularly at all. You can still have eggs cooked any way, so at least we got something. Coffees were brought out cold, and "juice"is awful. The newer deluxe rooms are small, the shower is very low and the basin so high it is barely usable. And only one small mirror in bathroom. Compared to other places we stayed for the same price, there were no extras like mossie coils, room spray or tissues for example. Wifi was pretty much non existent, did not work in the room , itermittendly on our veranda and occasionally in the restaurant. For us this was a huge issue, as we need to communicate with home etc. What also may be a problem for some is the bars across the road pump out really loud aussie style music to 10.30 pm, so front rooms can have issues. We could hearly clearly from our room at back of complex. For the prices charged, things need to improve to make the place good value again.

Very happy with our budget hotel, situated in beautiful gardens, great swimming pool.
Staff are fabulous, friendly and couldn't be more helpful.
Our accomodation was great, bed a little hard for us oldies, but a taxi ride to a foam rubber outlet fixed that very inexpensively.
Situated over the road from Sugar Ray's, a great bar restaurant Aussie owned, lots of other eating spots and shopping galore.
We were very happy with our choice which we booked direct via email with Kusnadi Hotel..

In the centre of the action, yet you walk into the resort and find a tranquil oasis. The room was clean with a lovely outdoor bathroom. Buffet breakfast was good but could be approved on a bit. Get there early so you don’t miss out. 10 minutes walk to the beach to watch the sunset.
