3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 25 Nov 2017via mobile
Stayed with friends, great beach access, had to move rooms as air conditioning not working, which is not great in Bali. Great pools breakfast is plenty, nice friendly staff, nice grounds, no safe in room, shower over bath, rooms need an upgraded specially for the price you pay

Booked in OK, changed rooms without much hasstle. A few complaints, we are an older couple, we should have known not to come here at schoolies time, seems they cater for them, although there did not seem a lot here, the music they play at pool are I can only describe as loud noise. The hotel has TV in rooms, but mostly Indonesian language, seems only one movie channel, some news, would expect a hotel of this standard to have a lot more English channels. Very little clothes storage, 2 bedside drawers broken, and unusable. They really need to train staff at the safety box area, on one Occassion I just presented my key, that gave me access, no check on signature, next day I had to get front desk manager to address this issue. There supposed to be bottled water every day, I had to ask for this service. Will see if I get tomorrow. On a positive note staff are good and friendly, breakfast is good, as are the choices, pool service good. I could not click on ratings, but they are average, to below average.

Room tip: A large hotel, so hard to say

The Jayakarta is located right on the beach close to plenty of good restaurants, whilst slightly dated the amenities are very good and renovations are underway. This hotel is in an excellent location, the staff were attentive and very helpful, my stay there was great.

Room tip: The rooms at the beach side of the resort are best located

Just returned from spending a week at the Jayakarta and it was great. We had a pool view room which meant very easy access to the pool - but some additional noise during the day and early evening.

Room was tidy and comfortable, and a decent size. There was some confusion during check-in though and the queen bed I booked was instead two singles. I could have spoken to the desk and been moved but the location was decent so left it. Bathroom clean and decent sized and aircon (necessary in the heat!) worked perfectly.

Breakfast (which we had included) was amazing! reviews here are patchy but I dont know why. The food was great with a decent selection.

Wifi patchy and front desk/reception was a little confused sometimes but this was probably just the language barrier. That being said, they were always cheerful and happy.

Location was within walking distance of a number of decent restaurants and backed onto the beach.

Worth noting, there are renovations at the moment which are needed but have resulted in one of the pools being closed and the spa essentially useless (unless you enjoy the sound of banging and drilling throughout treatment). That being said, the two remaining pools are a good size and well maintained.

Definitely would stay there again with a pool view room but would probably wait for the renovations to be completed (feb 2018 I think). Also would have appreciated the Hotel advising us of this, prior to our stay.

Room tip: Pool view rooms are good (as close to pool) but can be noisy - worthwhile though for location!

I was here for 4 nights on a girls trip. Location was great, across the road from a beautiful beach, walking distance to restaurants and bars.
The room was clean and had a balcony. The grounds were lovely.
The pools were fantastic with plenty but of sun chairs.
The best thing about this place is the staff, they truly go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. It was my first trip to Bali and I am so impressed with the friendliness of the staff.
I don't usually eat where I am staying however I ate dinner here twice and was the best food I had in Bali. Breakfast had many choices and was delicious.
I would stay here again with my family. Nothing is too much trouble for staff.

I have stayed at the Jayakarta many times before but not for some time and have always enjoyed it. However this time it was evident that the hotel is in a bad state and in definite need of renovation.
On arrival the first room I was given was on the ground floor (although I had emailed and requested an upper room), it was very small, had dirty scuff marks and peeling paint on the walls, bathroom sink was a dirty rusty colour and the outdoor chairs, supposedly white, were a light grey and towels were threadbare. I immediately requested a room change which they accommodated the next day to an upper room. It was better but still there was a gap above the door where they had just hammered some plywood over and the air con barely worked, towels were still threadbare.
Breakfast was ok and in the beginning the beachside restaurant was a good choice but it was then closed for repair making a line in the main room.
Whilst it has 3 swimming pools there are nowhere near enough sunbeds for the size of the hotel and given that all the private apartments within the complex also use the pool facilities. Even though it says that people cannot leave their towels on sunbeds and leave them for more than an hour, it doesn't work as nobody polices this. People would go down at say 7.30am and put their stuff on sunbeds go off to breakfast and disappear for hours and hours some not returning until 3 or 4pm! People were forced to sit on the grass or the tiles! There were also never enough umbrellas for shade. The terrace looking towards to ocean could fit at least 20 sunbeds but there were never more than 4-6 there.
The hotel also doesn't have any room safes meaning that a trip to Reception is required every time to access your money/belongings.
The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the staff very friendly.
The location being beachside and walking distance to shops and bars is a plus.
However until it is fully renovated I would not stay there again.......better value for money around than the Jayakarta.

Room tip: Request an upper floor room
