Fabulous location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 Sept 2017via mobile
It is our first time we have stayed at this. Hotel as other people have said location is perfect and the pools are great, yes the rooms are dated but they are kept clean the only disappointment with the room was the shower in the bath as there was no water pressure and just dribbled.
Breakfast was ok and all the staff very friendly, we will be back again next year .

This is the first time I have stayed at the Jayakarta. The Hotel is situated on the Beach and close to many restaurants and cafes.
All staff were very friendly.
Breakfast was Average in a great location by the pool. The food variety wasn't large, however enough variety to fuel the body.
Pool area was large with umbrellas for shade. The pool closest to the beach had shade from about 3.30pm from large trees. The pools were cleaned each day and looked great. The pool tiles surrounding were a little slippery when wet.
the wifi had great coverage in the room and around the resort without having to re log-in.
My Deluxe Room room on the second floor was very comfortable. Their was plenty of storage and hanging space. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.
The bathroom was well appointed and the shower was nice and hot. The vanity had plenty of space to place your amenities. The room had a comfy chair and footstool to sit and relax reading.
The rooms air con worked well. Your also didn't need a card in a slot for it to operate.
The room was serviced by 10.00am each day.

The only negatives were;
The TV's in the room were old CRT (not Flat Screen) and obviously not HD. The TV on occassion lost its tuning and had to be re-tuned. It didn't have a lot of choice of western Channels. No CNN, Australia Plus, Crime Investigation, Discovery (only Animal Planet).
I went to the BBQ nite 150,000 Rupiah (A$15). I found it disappointing. The food was average and salads were not replenished often.
Some of the pool furniture need replacing / maintenance. The backrests were small and not supportive of the head / neck, i.e. not very comfortable.

All in all the Hotel was priced well and I would stay here again.

We often stayed at this resort when the children where young. It's a great place for families and the over 55's, with three big pools and right opposite the beach.

I came back recently with my adult Daughter who wanted to stay and nothing much has changed. Mostly over 55's and families staying here. The rooms are a bit tired and could do with a refurb. But compared to the prices other nearby resorts are charging, this hotel is great value for a family. It's affordable to get two rooms or a family unit.

The only negative is the lack of pool lounges. There is just not enough and you need to get up at 7am to claim your spot. There is enough room around the resort gardens, pools and area over looking the beach to add at least another 50 lounges. Plus the existing ones are old and many are broken. It's an easy fix that wouldn't cost much money and make for a nicer holiday.

Room tip: We had a "cottage room" which was close to the pool and beach.

Jayakarta is now our favourite place to stay. Mainly because of the great pools which are in full sun so they're never cold and you can always go home with a tan. The beds and pillows are so comfy. The bathrooms are a little dated, i would prefer a free standing shower instead of over a bathtub, but that is the only negative about this hotel. I love the location right on the beach, so many restaurants around and great shopping. The gardens are large with lots of green spaces. The price is fantastic for the location, you really can't beat it.

Staff very friendly. Grounds are kept immaculate. Rooms are quite dated but clean.
Great location with walking distance to beach, Legian and Kuta. Pools are kept clean but unable to get a poolside chair as everybody would secure their chair from 7.00 am.(by placing a book, towel or hat on the chair and maybe not use it til the afternoon) very annoying!
Breakfast was great with a good selection to choose from. Restaurant was pricey with limited choice.
Overall a nice place to stay.

Room tip: All apartment are situated at the front of hotel. Further east away from the beach.

We booked apartments 6403 and 6500 in the private apartments in Jayakarta Resort from one owner and another 3 apartments from another source.

Apartment 6403 was a disgrace! Faults included a very strong odour of mildew and mould that took our breaths away. After some days, we finally found the source of the mildew smell, the child's stroller had been packed away wet and the stroller was covered in mould. As we didn't have any small children in our apartment, we hadn't even thought about looking at the stroller. Also, the drainer on the sink was rusted and dirty. The glasses in the bathroom had toothpaste stuck inside them. The owner had built cupboards into the hallway to store their personal items which inhibited the space to walk into the one bedroom and no thought had been given to any cupboard space for people who rented the apartment. It is advertised as being suitable for 5, which is totally unrealistic. (Same with apartment 6500). We rented 6500 for our daughter and son in law and their 3 children and the apartment was very cramped for 5 people. I would suggest 3 maximum for any sort of comfort. We had looked at pictures on the internet of 6403 and 6500, and in my opinion, the photos had been taken using a wide angle lens on the camera. The apartments were very small compared to the pictures.

We rented another 3 apartments in Jayakarta and each of the others were very well presented, clean and tidy and were exactly as the pictures showed.

Room tip: Apartments 6124 and 6501 in A block was fabulous. Apartment 6442 in B block was ok
