This hotel keeps getting better and better! Smack dab in the Legian action, yet able to remain calm for such a large hotel. Everyone I met seemed to be from Perth Australia! They were very friendly and happy to be in Bali! I recommend upgrading to Club Level. We had breakfast in the regular dining area and found the selection amazing but be prepared for crowds! Club level dining was much more peaceful and with a very good selection! The elevated terrace in the club level is the perfect place to enjoy coktails and enjoy Legian's wonderful sunsets. I have visited Legian 17 times in the past and enjoyed many different hotels. The Padma gets it right with a fine staff, well maintained grounds, great dining choices, and good value. I will definitely return!

We were really looking forward to staying here after reading so many rave reviews and cannot begin to describe how disappointed we were.

We stayed in a pool access room with club benefits and felt totally ripped off. Check in was slow and tedious: wait in reception, walk to club, wait in club, walk back via reception to our room. The room was small, dark and smelt musty. The curtains were dirty, there was mould in the shower and the mat by the door was disgusting (and wet when we arrived).

Having pool access was lovely but certainly not worth the extra cost. Neither was the club. The restaurant for club members to have breakfast in was closed so we ate in the main restaurant which was packed and full of kids (touching the food) and babies (screaming). The food was very average, the hot breakfast inedible.

The club has free ice cream, cakes, nibbles and cocktails which sounds great except of course you are paying for all this in the tariff, so its not really free. We would have been happier just forgetting the club and buying what we felt like eating instead. For example there were only 3 flavours of ice cream available in the club but a lot more variety if you just bought it from one of the hotel outlets. The club ran out of nibbles at cocktail hour and took an age to replace them (remembering they only offer these for 2 hours). When they did replace them, instead of the nice stuff like spring rolls which were out previously, they put out chicken nuggets and not nice chicken nuggets but the most revolting things, full of gristle and just plain nasty. Because we had paid for the benefits we felt tied to the club and it would have cost us less, and given us more variety, to just buy what we ate and drank there somewhere else.

For half the price it would have been bearable but we were expecting far better quality all around and when spending this sort of money we would pick somewhere classy like the Intercontinental at Jimbaran. Padma just doesn’t compare.

Had the pleasure of returning to Padma in April with my husband and 4 children for a family holiday after 4 nights at another hotel in Kuta. Wow - what an absolute delight to be able to show my children such a beautiful hotel such as Padma. The Padma is in a great location on the beach - only a short walk to great eateries and a stones throw to both Kuta and Seminyak. It is popular with families, honeymooners and groups of all ages.
Arriving by taxi my children were certainly impressed at the imaculate gardens the Padma boasts. We had booked the "family chalet" which had the interconnecting doors and gave us heaps of room for my family of 6. Essentially, the chalet was 2chalet's connected with interconnecting door. We utilised the daybeds in each room for my younger children aged 7 & 10 which was very comfortable for them. Bathrooms were huge with separate shower and bath, thick fluffy towels and great toiletries provided. It was great to be able to have 2 bathrooms for our family - don't know how we would have gone without it!
This stay we were in the bottom chalet and I was worried we would have sleep disturbance from the family above but only ever heard some light footsteps when all was quiet that did not bother us at all.
Air-conditioning was a welcome relief, rooms were always well cleaned when we returned from breakfast and plenty of bottled water provided. The free wifi within the resort and rooms was appreciated by my teens as this had to be purchased at the Kuta hotel.
Breakfast was awesome as usual with so much to choose from and enough to suit any palate - even labels with gluten free etc for those in need. We only ever encountered a delay of 5 or so minutes once during our 7 night stay in trying to find a table to seat the 6 of us for breakfast.
My daughter really enjoyed the kids club and the activities they had on offer - so much so that we had to insist on her staying only for 2 hours at a time!
The pools are both lovely, we used the main pool and we never had problems in getting a sun lounge. Food and drink around the pool was served quickly and was delicious. My kids enjoyed the swimming races organised by staff and the reward of a free ice cream! There a 2 ladies at the main pool who sellbeaded bracelets and plait hair for a fixed price. We got my daughters hair done this way which was great as I provided her own brush and detangling spray. She got to sit on a cushion in the shade with a drink and we got to laze by the pool whilst they spent over an hour plaiting her hair- far more enjoyable than at the beach!
My daughter celebrated her 8th birthday whilst we were away and when I emailed asking for info on how to purchase a cake they kindly offered to supply one for us free of charge which was very tasty and enjoyed by all.
In summary, if you are looking for a safe, secure and high quality hotel you cannot go past Padma. Book this with confidence as you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Chalets are roomy for families

We usually stay at the padma twice a year and always find small improvements each time. we love the hustle and bustle of the streets and always love to return to the serenity of the padma. This time May 2 to May 9 with newbies, who loved it also and will return with their children.
The best breakfast in bali by far, they have finally got poached eggs down pat. Only complaint with that is that they are pre made now and reheated so sometimes not hot enough and sometimes overcooked. Food and beverage prices within the hotel are reasonable ( for a hotel ), we especially like the sunset bar, pizza and late night dessert in the deli.
There is also now a spare pillow ( non feather ) in the cupboard which is much appreciated, saves me having to buy one each time.
Noticed a LOT more mozzies in the room this time, especially the bathroom, really needed a spray i don't think the zapper was refilled very often this time around.
We had some very noisy neighbours downstairs but security was quickly on to them and they were not a major problem after that.
Some of the rooms (deluxe garden chalet) are looking a little tired for e.g. the flooring is coming loose in some places and the wood needs some attention in some places. Not sure when they are due for renovation but it will not be long for some rooms.
Can't wait for our next visit.
