When I was looking at the area around our hotel (Ossotel), I found there was a small alley that lead to Legian beach. Right next to the alley is a small warung that I just ignored. On the way back to our hotel, we stopped and had a drink and got talking to one of the regulars there. He explained that the chef was originally Italian and did the best pizza’s and pasta’s around. We decided to try it the next night and we were so glad we did! We started with a caprese salad. About as simple as it comes, but so much flavour! We then had a ham and cheese sandwich and a ham and mushroom pizza. The pizza was delicious, but we were bowled over by the sandwich. It was made with freshly cooked pizza dough as the bread. With the fresh salad inside, it was sensational! We’ve been back another two times. The next time we went we tried the burrata salad instead of the caprese. Even better! The burrata is very popular and they do run out. The owners wife, who is Balinese, told us that they only have 18 months left on the lease and the rental prices are too high, so they may well move away after that. If this place goes out of business, that will be a major loss to the area. Get there while you can, you won’t be disappointed!
