Despite recommendations from trusted friends, this place fell far short of expectations. To be very clear, we did not try any duck dishes but it would appear we dodged a bullet anyway! The fish saté, fish noodle soup and Balinese chicken curry were sadly not up to scratch.

We were staying in Amed for one night whilst in transit to Gili Air. We reviewed the best restaurants in the area and this one came in as number 1 so we decided to try it. It looked nice from the outside and the views of the mountains were lovely from the upstairs eating area. Unfortunately that is were the good review stops. We received the drinks menu and chose a local white wine to be told that there isn’t white just red, ok so we had the red. Next came the food menu. I chose the highly recommendable AngryDuck and my wife had the chicken Satay. Let’s start with the Satay. This came as mushed up chicken which my wife said she wasn’t sure it was chicken and was very gristly although the salad was nice. Now the recommended House special of the Angry Duck. This came looking like it had just been run over and spices thrown on it, the smell of it put me off from the start but I thought I would give it a go so for the next 10 minutes pulled the thing to pieces in search of some meat which eventually I did find some.
The service was poor also up until the point were two young ladies came in for food then the waiter perked up.

It’s a shame as we usually enjoy these local experiences but this one wasn’t so good.

Very clean restaurant, the upstairs terrace has great views of the mountains, so try to get there before dark. The chicken cooked in a banana leaf is almost five star, the other meals great. Well priced, good service, free internet and a variety of tables. Highly recommended

This is a beautiful local restaurant run by a family - father and children. They were out of wine and liquor when we went (no big deal) so we had a BinTang to share.

I ordered half of an "angry duck" that was covered in about 20 peppers. Omg it was DELICIOUS!! I dream of this duck and wish I could have it again. The appetizers and dishes are generous and the view at sunset through the valley is lovely.

After dinner, we asked our waiter (one of the sons) to call us a taxi. He walked us out to the front and put us in his own family car and drove us home saying "the ride home was part of the meal." Of course we paid him anyway but can you believe this hospitality!

What a gem of a restaurant - lovely staff, lovely food, lovely view. If I ever make it back to Amed, I am 100% going to Taman Bebek Hita. You should not miss this place!

Alongside the Bridge in Eastern Amed, this restaurant is the stop for good Bali dishes. Best we've tried after a week in Amed, good sized meals, really tasty sauces, good variety and BBQ fish is a triumph.
And one of the few places powering good old Pisang Goreng.
Lovely people and great views!!
