We had booked 6 bedrooms houseboat. It was agreed with them that they provide 4 bedrooms to stay in the day time and in the night they provide another 2 bedroom boat house. As agreed they provided the same.
On check-in they did provided welcome drink.
House boat was excellent with neat and clean rooms and nice decor. Bathrooms were also very neat. There were 3 staff in the house boat to take care 19 people and we didn't had any complaint and they had taken care well. Food wise, it was excellent . For lunch they provided us with fish fry , pappad , rice , one veg and sambar. For dinner chicken curry , Chappati , one veg and rasam . Breakfast was idly, bread all the dishes they provide was excellent. They was not a single dish which I can say it is not good.
Overall Verdit very good house boat with neat and clean rooms with well decor rooms and excellent food.
I have to share Pournami tours review as it was a lifetime experience in Alleppey and Pournami tour made it more memorable. Visited Kerala in the month of October, one of the best months to visit Kerala as the weather is very pleasant.
The complete tour was arranged by Pournami tours. I got their number through a friend. My husband and I reached Cochin via rail from Bangalore and from there had pick up facility and moved to Munnar. The driver was very jovial and kept us in good mood and made no fuss whatsoever (usually drivers spoil trip with their grumpy behavior).Stayed in munnar for a day. The main attraction in Munnar is Tata Tea Museum, which describes the complete procedure of tea leaves making and I found it very interesting.
We started for Alleppey next day and it’s here when you will feel why Kerala is called ‘God’s own country’. We had Houseboat stay arranged by Pournami tours which had excellent service on board. Food was scrumptious, it’s a delight for fish lovers (as I am one of them), they catch fish right away from the backwaters and prepare it .Staffs on houseboat were very decent and caring and looked into all our needs. Alleppey backwater houseboat ride is a lifetime experience and one should not miss it. The experience is very refreshing and a great stress buster.
From Alleppey we moved to kovalam via road and had a wonderful stay there. Got ourselves Kerala’s popular Ayurveda massage which was super relaxing. You can find these massage centers in every nook and corner of kovalam. Some can charge you bomb but with little effort you can find a cheaper one with same massage facilities.
My whole trip was hassle free, relaxing and very memorable. All thanks to Pournami Tours.

We hired Pournami houseboat end of July for one night. I had made the bookings from UK through email enquiries and finally did speak with Parvathy before paying the booking amount.
The entire process was smooth.
I had asked for a 4 bed room boathouse house as we were a large family group . I had stumbled upon pournami while searching for reviews of houseboats in Aleppy.
I requested for photos of the houseboat and details of the route which I recieved very promptly.
We arrived in Kochin at 4.30 AM
We had arranged for a 12 seater traveller vehicle with driver for 6 days. The transport contact was Suneesh again provided by Parvathy.
Suneesh provided a new vehicle and a driver who spoke fluent english and hindi and doubled as guide as well.
We drove to Aleppy from Kochi which is about an hour and a bit.
As the houseboat check in time is 11 am we had booked a resort close to backwaters just to get refreshed and rest.
We were promptly contacted by Vinod at 10.30 who took us to the boat. They did all the luggage transfer etc. Vinod introduced us to the 3 member crew. We paid the final amount at the boat.
We started the cruise at 11 am . We were given a welcome drink of fresh coconut. The houseboat was much better than expected. The rooms very clean and fresh. The bathrooms spacious .There were 4 bed rooms with attached bathrooms.Do not expect hot water though, you will not miss it also given warm weather . And being Eco friendly theme it was good. There is a big lounge with plenty of nice seating and also a larger dining table. This allows you to enjoy nice views when cruising.
The boat cruises through canals and lakes which are interconnected. You go through villages with greenery everywhere and witness the daily life in backwaters . Even the school children were taking boats to school. And people going about their daily life using boats.
We were served buffet lunch on the boat. The food was excellent. We are vegetarian and there was very good veg food preparation.
Evening we anchored at a place where we had Ayurvedic massage.
The dinner served was also delicious and freshly prepared on the boat in the fully equipped kitchen . The crew take full care of you with excellent service. Two of the crew spoke well. One was a bit shy.
For night they cover the lounge portion of boat with plastic canopy to protect from insects and rain.
Next morning we had a very nice breakfast in the boat with plenty of tasty food choice. We travelled back to Alleppy and checked out at 9 am. Again the crew helped with transfer of luggage to our waiting vehicle.
Overall excellent experience . By booking directly with Pournami who own the boat we think we got a good deal .
