Maramboi Tented Camp

The camp has single and double-tents with all comfort, a great restaurant and pool area with sight to Lake Manyara. Amazing are the animals crossing directly the camp. We had a tent in first row and at night some jackals in front... The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: tents located to the sea in first row are the best...

Another great property by the Tanzania tented camp group. Clean spacious rooms with a drop-dead view, and zebras grazing nearby. Excellent food and service, and happy hour around the pool. The guided walking tour around the area with Melee was a high point of the entire trip. As usual, great service, especially by Mary.

We spent 2 nights here whilst on safari in Tarangire. The tents are very spacious and the bathroom facilities were very good. The tent was very hot, but two floor fans were provided which we used every night. The tents have a small balcony with a table and two chairs....a great place to sit looking out to Lake Manyara and for watching the wildlife that roams freely.
There are quite a few tents at this camp, which meant lots of people! We prefer to stay at more intimate places. Mealtimes were busy, but the food was very good. We particularly enjoyed the stir-fry station.
The pool has a lovely setting, but we never used it as there were just too many kids in it!
We were advised on arrival that all drinks were included in our stay, which was a bonus! Between 6 and 7pm they have a 'happy hour' beside the pool with drinks and nibbles....the samosas were delicious. Beware of the gin and tonics.....they have A LOT of gin and not much tonic!
We enjoyed our stay here, but probably wouldn't return. It seems to attract a lot of families with small children and has a bit of a 'holiday camp' feel to it.

Maramboi Tented Camp was wonderful experience. The service was courteous and friendly. The food and beverages delicious. The tents were clean, comfortable and to wake up with a herd of wildebeest outside our tent, well it was fantastic! Having a sundowner out by the pool while we watched the animals and the sun set was perfect. The next morning our guide took us for a walking safari where we saw wildebeest and flamingos. Beautiful. This was my second stay at Maramboi and I can't wait to be back again!

A wonderful camp, quite big, but it doesn't actually feel that it is. The staff were without exception wonderful, friendly and efficient. The tents were perfectly maintained with everything one could need. The food was beyond belief, plentiful and varied. The walk to the lake was a wonderful to stretch our legs after a long time in vehicles and the guide was knowledgeable pointing out some really interesting things to see on the way. If that wasn't enough, we came within 10 metres of 3 giraffe and there was a small group of zebra right outside our tents to welcome us on arrival - what a special experience!
