We stayed in a small room that was nice, the kitchen was definitely outdated. It really depends on what you’re looking for... if you are in the area for a long stay and plan to spend a lot of time in the room, this may not be best. It does have an indoor and outdoor pool with hot tubs, which was nice. The road up to it is windy and takes probably 10 minutes for a few miles, but you really are on top of the mountain!

There were 6 of us that stayed in the 3 bedroom condo. I had stayed here before so I knew the road was curvy. The room we were in was very dated. One of the TVs in the bedroom did not work as the cable box was out. The electrical outlet in that room only had one hookup to plug into. One of the blinds in the bedroom was broke as well as one of the chairs at the dining room table. When we asked to get maintenance on these nothing was done, and no money was given back. Speaking of money, we were told one price, and then charged even more. When I asked the gentleman on the phone why the price was different, he said the prices went up and their website and brochures hadn't been updated. So that was a big SURPRISE. This will probably be my last time staying at The Summit. There is no need now to drive 35 minutes out of the way when everything is at the bottom of the mountain especially with their prices going sky high now.

Room Tip: Stay on a top floor for a better view.

Our first family vacation to Gatlinburg and we booked at the Summit. The pictures do not do the condo justice.
The description on the site wasn't clear, the site said it was a 2 bedroom condo and it was 3 bedrooms with queen beds plus a pullout sofa, and a day bed. A very nice Christmas surprise! Each child had their own bedroom!
The condo was clean and very cozy when we made a fire in the the fireplace.
We would highly recommend The Summit of Gatlinburg and will gladly stay there again

We have been coming to the summit for the last few years now and cannot find a good reason to stop. For what you can get a 2 br 2ba condo would be as much or more for a decent hotel room.

Pros. Great staff, location for the views and layout of the condos. Coin laundry on site. Indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubs. Stocked kitchens. Did I mention the views from your personal balcony? Great for kids.

Cons. A bit away from the cities. Sometimes the rooms are a bit dated. The walls and ceilings are paper thin so if you have kids that are loud and stomp a lot it could be annoying. Also it seems like the master beds are always noisy in these units and if you enjoy vacation sex you might end up waking a neighbor or two. lol. We woke up the next morning after a "noisy" night to hearing footsteps, conversations and a tv the next morning from our upstairs neighbors.

Overall, this is an excellent choice for people who want a nice vacation without spending a fortune. Oh, they also have wood burning fireplaces and include all the wood!

The Summit was the perfect honeymoon experience I could ever dream of having! The view from our room was amazing, not only from the balcony but our bed was connected to a full window so every morning was breath taking. Our room also had a fully stoked kitchen with all the dishes and necessities needed, all we had to do is get food to cook. The staff was amazing and help our every need. The hot tub and pool areas were very clean and the hot tubs were just the right temp to relax and sip wine in. The internet did keep going in and out the entire time and there was moments we didn't have any internet at all, note we stayed an entire week, which was a problem especially when we were trying to look up places to go tour for directions which was a downfall. Over all our experience was amazing. It has a fantastic view of the city at night as well. Would definitely recommend and come back for another trip soon.

Room Tip: ask for the mountain balcony/bed views
