An amazing park it is with breathtaking views and hikes, but unfortunately there are many natural fires in the park and one must check ahead of time for road closures. We altered our plans because may roads and trails were closed. If you have asthma, please go at another time as the winds are strong and each day there is more smoke in the air.

We were camping in two campgrounds in Glacier: Apgar and Rising sun. Apgar is very nice campground because right next to it, 10 min of walk, is McDonald's lake. So we were spending our evenings, after hikes, there. But Apgar doesn't offer showers. Rising sun has showers. You just have to buy tokens for showers in General store. 1 token costs about 4 dollars and you can shower 8,5 minutes. For me and my daughter (2 y old) 1token was enough. All campsites have grills.

This place is awesome! Plenty of places to visit, sights, hiking, trails. Very scenic with many animals abundant throughout the Park.
Many shuttles available throughout.
You need a couple/few weeks to see it all, and both the East and West sides of the Park.

We toured as much of the Park as possible Sept 4-6,2017. There are many active forest fires in the area and a good deal of the park is closed. This review is for the Park Itself NOT THE CAMPGROUNDS. We couldn't find a link to the Park on TripAdvisor.

The Park is beautiful. It is so nice to tour a facility that is not spoiled with tourist accommodating add-ons. The mountains, valleys and streams are spectacular. This was our first trip to the area and had we known better we would likely have come in the late spring before the fire season. The sky was spoiled by smoke and it did affect our pictures. Though we stayed near the West Park entrance the access road there was very short and did not extend through the Park due to closures. We had to drive a little over 2 hours to the East side to have access to a 17 mile stretch of open road through the Park. In spite of the smoke we did enjoy seeing this natural beauty and would come again if the opportunity presents itself.

Starting with the ranger at the West entrance to glacier park who was very helpful in the decision to find a camping spot before we did anything else to the shuttle service that took us from the apgar campground and all the way to st.maries East entrance our experience was exceptional. Our second day walking to apgar village, visitors center and later to the ranger program at the ampitheater rounded our our visit.
