The place has limited seating: Just a narrow counter against the front window with six metal stools. They probably do more take-out than dine-in business; however, they offer no delivery.
The menu is pretty much like that of most low-end Chinese places except that there is no pork and the food apparently is prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary rules. There is a mosque two streets away from here and the neighborhood has a lot of Muslim-run businesses and visitors. The counter where you order the food has two boxes for Mosque donations.
But, of course, you don't have to be Muslim to frequent this place.
I was here to do take out for lunch and ordered the sweet and sour chicken from the "All Day Special" section of the menu: For $7.50, in addition to the chicken, you get an egg roll, fried rice and a can of soda.
The chicken came in battered balls with the sauce "on the side" in a container. It was pretty good and a bit better than your average cheap Chinese place. The egg roll was very good and the highlight of the meal. I would have enjoyed the fried rice more if it didn't have so many stringy onion-like veggies in it.
I'm giving this place four stars since it is about as good as China Wok on the other side of 4th Avenue, and I gave China Wok four stars. If you are non-Muslim and want Cheap Chinese in this neighborhood, I say flip a coin to choose between this place and China Wok. Obviously, if you are Muslim, go with No Pork Halal. If you want the food delivered, you gotta go with China Wok.
