Dont want to pay the price to stay downtown NY? This hotel is within short walking distance to several of the subway stations and convenient to local restaurants. We enjoyed the clean and boutique style rooms. The kids loved the lobby! They liked the chairs and the mini-food area where you can get snacks.

We have stayed in hotels in Manhattan and in the Sheraton in Brooklyn, which is right next door to the Aloft. The Aloft is a great price alternative to New York City. You're just minutes from Manhattan on the subway, which is so easy to use. We spent the first part of our vacation in the city in a pricey hotel that had tiny rooms, flat pillows, miniscule shower, $14 in room WIFI, and a bottom sheet that refused to stay tucked in. I liked the Aloft WAY better! Our room had large windows, lots of light, a big walk-in shower, Bliss amenities, free waters every day, free WIFI IN THE ROOM!, an extremely comfortable bed, contoured bottom sheet!, and wonderful pillows that I wanted to steal. In the lobby you could buy an ice cream bar, coffee, yogurt, bagels..... great quick foods to take with you, or even play a game of pool. The hallways were quiet narrow but we were glad that they had put the extra space into the room. I would go back to this hotel in a minute. Brooklyn is really looking better these days. If you do more than just go between the hotel and the subway, it is not a scarry place like it used to be. We're in our 60's, maybe not as brave as a 20 year old anymore, and felt very comfortable here.

Have just stays at this hotel for three nights. Although there are no cooked breakfast facilities there are breakfast snacks available. Cereals with free milk and complimentary coffee or tea. And other snack like items. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, clean and modern. We did not have any problems with noise during the night. The beds were very comfortable.
The hotel is situated just over the Brooklyn bridge and close to an underground station that takes you straight into more expensive Manhatten. There is free internet and if you dont use room service you are given a card worth 4$ towards breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
A great base for our visit to New York.

Room tip: We were on the second floor and had no trouble sleeping

Looking for an economic way to stay in Big Apple we found the new ALoft concept by Starwood and we have to admit, no disappointment for us. If you just want to have a good room, a good bed and good wireless, this a certain a place to be. If you want to have a spa area, a mini bar and several restaurants than do not visit Aloft. This Hotel is well situated, many subway stations in closest neighbourhood and Brooklyn Bridge is in walking distance (when you like walking, like we do). Smith Street is offering plenty of restaurants and is in walking distance as well.
A place we will visit again

Room tip: we stayed around 15th floor , nice view. Traffic on flatbush avenue did not allow to open window during the night.

Got a good corporate rate with this hotel. Aloft Brooklyn is a hip and modern hotel, located right next to a Sheraton. The moment you walk in you'll feel the vibe. They have funky dimly-lit elevators, which might be coolfor some but claustrophobic for others :)

I got a nice corner room and the bed, as others said, was so comfortable. Luckily I didnt have issues with the noise. The shower was nice and equipped with Bliss toiletries.

Very close to Metro entrance but at night the area can feel very quiet to walk in alone.

Overall, it was a good two-nights stay.
