Owner description: Home to famous rides like the Cyclone Roller Coaster, the Wonder Wheel and the Parachute Jump, this historic seaside section of Broooklyn is about an hour by train from Manhattan and still boasts a lively boardwalk, beach, and the best hot dogs around.

Really easy to reach from mid-town on the C line train. Had a bracing walk on the Boardwalk frontage. Guess it would be better to visit in the summer, but good escape from the bustle of the city. Definitely worth a visit.

Caught the train from New York took about 1 hour to get there. Always wanted to visit this. Only stayed about an hour seemed a little tacky there. Glad to have experienced it. The sand looked lovely but as we were about to walk in it we noticed it was full of bits of broken glass. Fairground old but looked okay. Would not visit there again.

Nice place to take a walk by the beach. Great food choices all around with Nathan's as a must visit. Check out the Cyclone too!

Loved the place, if you want a chill out day from the city then this is for you. Great attractions with an old school feel. Less than an hours train ride from midtown Manhattan. Put this place on your list.

When I use to visit this place as a little girl everything was so desolate and worn down, wanting for improvement. But I was young and enjoyed it because I didn't know there was better, safer rides. The riding system was different than it was too, the rides use to require tickets vs the cash it requires now in some and virtual cards for Luna Park side. Years went by and people stop going so much because there was always stories about rides breaking, people getting hurt or robbed out there, rides that weren't broken was visibly worn and that caused peoples trust and enjoyment to began to wane.

After this place closing for about a year or two and multiple news reports of billionaire developers wanting to turn that area into something that made you think of a knock off vegas with casinos, nightlife venues and restaurants, the park finally reopened but as a brand new coney island with a kiddy section named Luna Park an
the other half (I doubt it has been renamed now that I think of it) was pretty much left undone with some of the same old rides (I assume those are ride operators that refused to give up their space so they were build around which makes the park look mix-match like a new-old-new-old-new-old kind of look) but this time with the old rides in place they want cash for you to get on so one bumper car ride or the music express ride is now $10 for a single go which is nuts. The new rides require you to buy electronic tokens to put on a card (think dave and busters). Some of the rides are fun, those are the rides that are better for the value. You can also buy unlimited rides for a certain amount of time which is usually for four hours worth of ride times. So if you like the tickler or whatver you can ride that for as many times as you can manage for four hrs.

The train station in that area is renovated, has a police station there and its always fully staffed with officers should an issue arise, its brightly light - not as dull and piss ridden as it use to be. I like that there is a lot of unique eatery there now on top of old favorites such as ihop, applebee's, popeyes, and of course Nathans famous hotdogs. a caribbean restaurant is there called footprints - food is ok there but not like the original in East Flatbush and of course the famous Wahlburger. There is also a cute candy shop called its sugar for those with a sweet tooth.

The beach is way better than it was years ago. That use to be the crack head haven where people would go to do drugs, shoot up and dump their used needles due to lack of police presence. Now that its all changed the sand has been cleaned, and new sand had been deposited on top of the old stuff since much of it was depleted and littered. I have visited and love how they gave it some TLC and fixed it up. It has a great family feel it once had not that desperate look it had back when it was on the verge of closing for good and becoming a small scale vegas. I took my son there plenty of times and he loves it. I am glad he get to have some fun memories as I had as a little girl but this time he will remember it being in much better shape than it was in the 80s and 90s.
