Great room very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Andi was very knowledgeable of the area and gave an interesting tour of the house and grounds. We were only sorry one could stay one night, there is so much history in the area. Can't wait until the next time.

We were pleasantly surprised at the warm and comfortable atmosphere experienced during our weekend stay at The Schooler House. Our hosts, Andi and Paul, were incredibly welcoming and seemed to anticipate our every need throughout the weekend. We were in Fredericksburg to participate in the 5th Annual Historic Marine Corps Half Marathon and Andi even volunteered to drive us to the race start and packed for us a delicious "to-go" breakfast at our request of her delicious homemade scones. The garden room out back was lovely and became a place to "escape" to read, relax, and snack. The rooms are filled with Andi and Paul's collections of turn of the century memorabilia blending the past and the modern conveniences of the present seamlessly. Our goal was to escape our busy lives and have a weekend where we could relax prior to our half marathon and we accomplished this with the help of The Schooler House. May I also add that Fredericksburg is filled with great restaurants and shops! We have already scheduled a return weekend with Andi.

Room Tip: We loved "Annie's" room. It was located on the side of the house and did not face the...

Hi Cheri,
Thank you for your wonderful review! We had such a good time with all of you during the 1/2 marathon weekend. Paul and I were so impressed with all of you! Hope you'll come back next year. We'll be ready with lots of food and, of course, the cow bell, on the route!

We recently visited the Schooler House Bed & Bkft in Freericksburg, VA. I ran in the Marine Corps Half Marathon which is what brought us to this small town USA. Wonderful people who run this fine B & B, and their house is like a museum. My wife was worried there would not be enought things to do in this small town for a 3 day get-away, but there was plenty to do here and some great restaurants. The night before the race I had pasta with wild boar sauce @ Poppy Hill's italian restaurant--great food and large portions. They people were very warm and friendly wherever we went. Our hosts perpared us a goody bag for the race and they were up @ 5:15 to make us a pot of hot coffee, now that is service and with a smile. We look forward to a return trip!
The B &B is only a couple of blocks from the town, perfect for a morning or evening stroll.
Thank you for a wonderful visit, Maria and Douglas!!

Room Tip: Only 2 rooms so plan in advance!

The Schooler House B&B is a very special place. My husband and I and mom-in-law enjoyed everything offered at this beautiful home and garden. All that is to be offered by a B&B is found here--wonderful hosts, excellent breakfast, beautiful home and garden, lovely and comfortable accommodations, great location in a historical town with plenty to do. Although our visit was short, we plan on coming back to The Schooler House for an extended stay to take in the history of Fredericksburg and enjoy more of what Andi and Paul offer at their B&B. A very warm and friendly couple with an interest in antiques, gardens and extended knowledge of the history of their home and the town. Could not have been any more enjoyable! Highly recommend.

Room Tip: We used both of their rooms as my mother-in-law was traveling with us. The rooms were very clean, co...

The location, hospitality and setting could not have been better. Sipping wine in the garden by the koi pond or on the porch was just what the Doctor ordered after a long day of shopping and sight seeing. Andi is the perfect inn keeper helpful and attentive with out being obtrusive. If a small intimate setting is what you want it doesn't get better than this. Take a picture of yourself in the bird hat.

Room Tip: Either room is great however if a little bit of traffic noise will bother you try the back room the...
