Description: Barcelona meets Brookline, and a sophisticated Boston neighborhood has a wine bar to call its own. A historic town located minutes from downtown Boston, Brookline is the perfect mixture of urban and country living. From large estates and recreational parks to boutiques and pedestrian-filled streets, Brookline offers a city atmosphere in a suburban setting. Located in Washington Square at 1700 Beacon Street, Barcelona is the newest addition to this lively neighborhood dining destination. A mix of antique wire glass, steel and reclaimed wood gives our newly built space a vintage appeal. The rustic, polished environment is the next best thing to eating tapas and drinking wine in our restaurant's namesake city. With hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and spacious patio, the space has a European charm which fills the menu as well.

This is my favorite place to eat in the Boston area, hands down. The food is innovative and interesting, but more importantly it's just made really, really well - whatever you order is going to be made as well as it can be made. There are a core list of staples and a constant rotation of new items. I recommend the migas, the patatas bravas, the croquetas and if you're mildly adventurous the pulpo gallego. Whatever short rib or risotto is on the menu is always worth having, as are any specials (always order specials, it's what the chef is excited to make!). Finally, the sangria is top notch stuff. My one complaint is that they took their amazing churros off the desert menu.

As for service, I have always found the staff to be helpful, attentive and courteous. The management in particular is friendly and always around and looking for ways to help out. Honestly, you just can't go wrong with Barcelona in Brookline! But do be sure to ask for reservations, and it helps to ask a week in advance - everyone knows about this place, and they know it's awesome! I have driven by on a Tuesday night and seen it hopping with a line out the door at 6:30.

I really enjoy this restaurant. I have been here several times with friends. The service is excellent with good choice of wine and tapas food. It can get really busy in the evenings and weekends, so make sure to make reservations. A must place to visit in the greater Boston area.

On positive side; Food is delicious and service is great. Good location and despite it is Brookline you still can find parking. Great service, waitstaff is really friendly and professional.
Negative: Very crowded place. Tapas are really small for the price.

Had a great experience, very good food and great service.
As usual it was impossible to get a table as the place is always packed (even on a snow day) but we were lucky to find a couple of seats at the bar.
The bartenders were great and the red Sangria is the best I've ever had.
Remember to ask for it without the syrup (that's the secret for the improved taste)
